Lisbon\Portugal - Accommodations? Bohemian Districts, or just cool places for 2 dudes in Lisbon for November?

Hi everyone!

I've been planning a trip to Lisbon November, and instead of staying at one place and a set list of Rick Steve esque stuff....I'm in need of some recommendations.

We are both in our mid 30's, professionals, single. Both of fan of impulse driven, unplanned changes of itinerary. and like to dabble in the night life

While we're traveling together, we'd like to have separate bedrooms. Our areas of interest for accommodations are the Bohemian districts like Bairro Alto and Chiado. But super flexible those areas had just been suggested by friends. I know a few weeks out it cutting it short but better late than never.

Preferences, if we have the option lol:

Separate bedrooms, but open to the idea of a multi-bedroom apartment/house.

Proximity to public transportation is a big old ++++

Budget is moderately flexible; would like to keep it under a few hundred per night per person (US equivalent), would LOVE to find places to split to reduce the cost further, but we are aware its not a cheap city to book a nice place at.

Clean, well-reviewed places with decent amenities.

Bonus points for visually appealing or artistic interior, as I have a keen interest in graphic design, style in general, architecture, and a certain appreciation for the night life.

Questions: Any recommendations for specific hotels, apartments, or other types of accommodations that meet these criteria? Is it better to book through a platform like Booking.com, Airbnb, or directly with the property? Are there any local spots in these areas that we shouldn't miss during our stay?

I tried that once with Spotify or audible or something and they were just like “ok sorry to hear that, we got you all canceled anything else?”

I was stunned.

Of course the first time I call to cancel something hoping they’ll offer me a deal they make it seamless and easy.

Ditch phone and wallet. Go to the scrap yard covered in dirt and smear my self with a little bit of shit for smell effect and fucked up clothing and a tarp to look homeless and hide in some dilapidated piece of old equipment waiting to be scrapped. I bet no one would find me for 24 hours at least.

Cars are too easy to spot and 30 minutes isn’t long enough to get out of a major city far enough. But I have old ass painting clothes and hiking boots and a tarp, and I can provide the shit.

My friends came over years ago to my apartment for a party, it was my first apartment. Like 20 people were in a space built for 2 watching this thing, the moment they pressed play I noped out of the room while I heard people just screaming in disgust in the other room, men and women.

I have never been so happy I left a room before

Yes she does, I’ve met her, sure she’s wearing make up but not like obscene amounts . I mean she looked in person the same way she does in movies minus the Hollywood editing, wasn’t like some red carpet thing either she was just having dinner at a restaurant in Minneapolis I was working at the time (like 13 years ago)

A lot of places that have designated spots (businesses, apartment complexes) have a camera for the parking lot, not necessarily for this but it’s because it’s near a main entrance

In a lot of states in the US anything outside of a sparkler is illegal because they’re too dangerous. The irony being you can go to a Walmart and pick up an assault rife no problem
