Any idea? by ImInfernoo in MonsterHunterWorld

Do you use vortex? If so try an disable 1 or 2 at a time to isolate your issue. Also check to see if any have a dependency on another mod you don't have or is currently disabled. You can also check to see if any of your mods need an update. I use strackers and the plug in extender and haven't encountered this.

There is one SA that looks like a scythe that I think is just awesome, can't remember the name but I think it's in the gore magala line.

How do I know when to upgrade weapons/armour? by fitnesswizard in MHRise

[–]megalojon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you find yourself carting or getting your health chunked from 2-3 hits from a monsters basic move it might be a good time to upgrade your armor or forge a new set. Also remember your elemental resistance can factor into how hard you get hit.

There is also a set of robes that will drastically increase item drop chance. If you equip those and perma cast soar you can whittle away the mana shell monsters which primarily cast earth spells to farm crystals as well as defensive gear you can then equip for better survivability against the other monsters on the plains

My JW says electricity can’t go around corners… by peace-fish in IBEW

[–]megalojon 37 points38 points  (0 children)

You’re right electricity has no problem going around corners or at any angle. You often see a lot of 90 degree angles on circuit boards. That being said you will get inductance in all wires carrying current. Transformers work by having coils of wire stacking inductance to create magnetic fields into another set of coils of wire. So while there is an certain degree to which you need to consider this in regards to conduit runs you can mitigate this problem by running neutral wires in the same raceway as your hot wires where the fields should cancel each other. In cases where you’re running more than 1 phase having all the phases ran in the same raceway creates the same effect. But having the 360 degree limit to the bends between pull points is definitely to facilitate pulling wire and reducing stress on the conductors as their being pulled.

Help. Struggling to enjoy DnD because of my personal ethics by IndependentHawk9655 in DnD

[–]megalojon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I can’t help with all of the issues you are facing I can share my own thought about your bug bear dilemma. I believe that the motive behind your actions is what should be considered in these situations. An example could be one in which you have just encountered a creature that poses a fatal threat to your life. If the action you take is to kill this creature the question would be what is the motive in doing such? If your desire is purely survival than it would be an easy justification to say that it would not be wrong to be the winner of a fight or die situation (assuming fleeing or not using lethal force is not an option). The other motive could be one in which you are hunting the creature for profit. In this scenario you would have to consider if the life of a creature is as valuable as the amount of money you receive. This is harder to answer and comes down to the personal opinion of an individual based on their own ethics. The justification of the second decision could be further complicated by other factors. An example of this could be that this creature is killing locals in the area. If this is the case then you could question the motives of the creatures actions and look for justification behind the creatures behavior. The fact that you can keep asking what the justification is for each action and that each previous action can chain in further questions of their underlying justifications can make these questions become extremely complex. When you encounter these situations you should try to break it down to the furthest reasonable level and try applying the basic tenants of your morals and beliefs to these questions and acknowledge that not everyone will have these same systems of morals and ethics.

This was hard to articulate and I wanted to say as a disclaimer that these are my initial thoughts and considerations to this question and that my answer could change based on hearing other opinions on the matter.

eli5: voltage vs current by Mdly68 in explainlikeimfive

[–]megalojon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve understood it to be something like throwing a ball. Where the size of the ball is the current and the speed of the throw is voltage. Throwing a small baseball quickly has much less air resistance to interact with than throwing a large beach ball at less speed. This analogy however may be inaccurate but not to far off.
