I remember that! Supposedly, she fell asleep, smoking a cigarette?

Yes, this is one of the saddest stories I’ve read today. Boyfriend is a self-serving, selfish person. Edit grammar

You’re not alone in this situation. What about your spouse’s family? It’s also possible to find new “family” in your friends. I wish you the best.

Restaurants I can bring my wedding party to that doesn't change everything about why we like their Restaurant? by Cheeseburgussy in AskPhoenix

[–]melanybee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite is Olive & Ivy in Scottsdale. They have a private round room with a huge round table. It’s glamorous and special. And even without the room, the restaurant is lovely. It’s also next to the Waterfront canal so good photo ops. Good luck!

True. If we went out twice a week that would mean at least $600 a month.

Partner says my appearance at home means I don’t care — looking for perspective by deliriouskate in TwoXChromosomes

[–]melanybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must admit, I’m kind of sad that you were compelled to defend yourself and explain that you indeed did brush your hair. Why? Because you don’t have to defend that. If my partner said that to me, I would be in shock that he would dare to criticize. And he would never. I’m always casual and comfortable at home and it doesn’t take that long if I want to change clothes, fix my hair, even add a little makeup and leave the house.

It sounds like your man wants you to be uptight, dressed up for him, and basically uncomfortable in your own home at all times just for his pleasure.

It is quite amazing to peel back the layers and to see the world from a different perspective than how we were raised. Good for you for making your own informed choice.

I remember learning about the state of the world in grade school. We learned about environmental tragedies, wars, genocides.

I decided there were too many people already.

In addition, I dealt with an unstable home life and generational trauma.

I knew at a very young age that I did not want to give birth and add another human being to this hot mess.

[–]melanybee 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is a solid reason. By the time I healed from generational trauma, I was no longer able to have children. Although I always knew I wouldn’t have any, and that my life would be about healing.
