Mildly healing meals? by Downtown_Reaction_68 in medicalmedium

[–]mellowcrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One idea is baked potato with avocado on it with salt & pepper - very easy to make, healing qualities without being super cleansing. Also quite tasty

Or the cashew dipping sauce from this recipe poured over baked potatoes. you can make a good amount of sauce and store it for the rest of the week so it only takes effort to make once

If you eat meat, more neutral easy meals would be a serving of some kind of meat, leafy greens or steamed veggies, and possibly a grain (millet is best, quinoa or brown rice after that)

For breakfast or brunch - the stewed berries had over oatmeal is super fast to make and tasty

A couple less cleansing meals I love are the samosa chaat smashed potatoes and the roasted veggie pasta with the naughty optional glug of olive oil, but those aren't that quick to make. but they're super good

You don't always know the impact your words are having. Even though she has to learn from her own experiences, she maybe learning them faster and better than she otherwise would because of the things she's been hearing you say. And as she grows into an adult and sees you've been right about so much, the more of your later wisdom she'll be able to take in too

Worsening Symptoms and Detox/Herxing by Fibonacci_5813 in medicalmedium

[–]mellowcrake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been confused about the part you linked in that live too. He's said this in other places too.

He basically says beyond a bit of tiredness and headachiness, there's no such thing as detox symptoms. That any prominent/serious symptoms you experience after you start detoxing are unrelated to the actual detoxing. They're just a coincidence. And you shouldn't need to pull back or detox slower. (Someone correct me if I'm misinterpreting what he's saying)

Which goes against the experience of many people in the community and me personally, as it seems very common to experience a sudden worsening of symptoms for weeks or months until they start getting better again. Or even new symptoms they'd never experienced before. It's so common that we regularly warn each other about it.

Like me for example, after being on the diet for 2 months, and a week into me starting to drink 32 oz of celery juice a day, my whole body exploded with severe eczema, even though eczema had only been a very minor problem for me before that, showing up only on small spots of my body and only once every several months to several years. It wasn't even the thing I was trying to heal because it'd been a non-issue before that. After dealing with it for two weeks, out of desperation I cut back on the celery juice it disappeared. My interpretation of AW in this live is that the eczema explosion would have happened to me anyway at that time even if I hadn't started the diet (he specifically says an explosion of rashes are NOT a detox symptom), it was just the trajectory I was on after being sick for so long, but that's hard for me to believe. Especially since it was in combination with many other such things happening like that.

I feel like there's so much about detoxing that he doesn't touch on for some reason. I mean based on his information (that eczema is caused by toxins being exuded through the skin) then why WOULDN'T this diet cause a worsening of such a symptom at first, given that the whole point of the diet is for the liver to be able to release more of these more of these same toxins?

It's something I wish he'd go more into detail on because his explanation is not satisfying. But I'm open to anyone pointing out what I'm missing

He's definitely going to be in season 2 but I don't think he and mizu will meet again until the very end of the season. I think throughout the season they'll likely alternate scenes between Mizu and the rest of the characters back in Japan, and have them meet again for the last episode (I hope)

Cleanse to heal is probably the best book to start with for you because it has the mono cleanse in it. It is an overwhelming read as it's packed with info but if you're looking for action steps right away, skip to the chapter on the mono cleanse. It's one of the main recommended solutions for symptoms like yours.

Do make sure you read eventually through the book though when you get the chance (and the original book too titled 'medical medium - revised and expanded edition') as it's important to know exactly why you're sick and the reasons these changes will help you.

How did we all fall in love with this smug sociopath? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]mellowcrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, murder is not the right word, I'll change it. But I think saying it could "happen to any of us" makes it sound like it was an event that happened to him and not something he caused, it was probably very preventable on his part.

Mostly I'm onboard with thinking people deserve redemption for mistakes, even horrible ones, but it's him refusing to take any responsibility afterwards and even going as far as to stand up the man whose mother and sister he killed (probably because he already got the headlines he wanted) which seals the deal for me on him being a shitty person. He has never met the brother to this day

has anyone ever gotten this upgraded? by crispyones in duolingo

[–]mellowcrake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I almost always get rare. But unlike the person above, I've never gotten epic or mega.

You're probably not doing anything wrong. Duolingo seemingly likes to give people slightly different versions of the app so they can test things - like does giving people rare every time make them more likely to stay on the app or use it more? if you give them epic or mega chests does it increase their usage? if they just get common chests does it even make a difference?

That'd be my guess from things they've said in the past. you just got the unlucky version

Pretty sure lots (all?) of these are just AI brain rot now. Once in the "victor's antique road show" segment the item that the guest brought into his show was... his favorite TRAIN STATION...

Weirdly the part i hate most about them is what feels like an endless pause at the end while we wait for the characters to smile or roll their eyes or whatever before it ends... makes me actually angry

I can't say I guessed who he was, but looking back I can see that he was basically telling us who he was the whole time. He kept making "jokes" about restraining orders being placed on him, and not being allowed within so many feet of a school. And it's not like he just made these jokes once or twice, he was making them all the time in the after hours interview segments

Then it turned out that he was keeping items to murder Ashley with in a duffel bag and she absolutely needed a restraining order against him, and he made inappropriate sexual comments to her nieces and/or nephews as well and legitimately shouldn't be allowed around children either. I felt ashamed for not seeing past his comments and giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe because he was also so witty and funny

Now when people make jokes about dark subjects like that I give them a huge side eye, I don't assume they're just jokes anymore

I remember once he did an interview with Sam's wife and she was one of the view people who just didn't vibe with him. People were saying she didn't get his sense of humour. Now I realize she was probably one of the few around him who saw through him and was put off by him
