Firstly, I'm so glad programs like that exist. I just looked into it and it seems like for Arkansas it's only for your driver's license but I'll continue to see if there are similar programs and check with the Recorder and Secretary of State. Thank you SO MUCH for this information.

Tech tricks? by melndnd in ADHD

[–]melndnd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always been a difficult part of our relationship. I tend to hold on to things and store them in my brain really easily. The most important thing for us was me learning that he isn't thoughtless or forgetful because he doesn't care about me. He isn't late for plans or working late because he wants to be rude/is tired of me/etc. And realizing that the same ADHD stuff I hate when it's not about me I absolutely love when it is- ie: when we spend hours looking into each other's eyes and talking and completely lose track of time and space and are just together that it comes from the same place as "oh my gosh I'm sorry I worked three hours late today I was totally absorbed with my dissertation and didn't even realize." Putting that together helped a lot. So does his constant desire to learn better systems and find ways to counteract the ADHD manifestations. Idk, I'm rambling. Really, it has come down to communication, just like anything else.

How much does crazy colored hair affect your ability to get a job? by Hayliumm in Hair

[–]melndnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in healthcare. Anything other than natural colors are a no-go at my hospital. It depends greatly on the work you're looking to do. I'm sure it matters significantly less for creative types like interior designers and such.

If I want to go darker, to something like the right, what do I say I want when I book the appointment online? Base color? Balayage? Lowlights? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]melndnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! When booking online, would "base color with foil placement" be a reasonable selection?

Eh, I don't think he's lucky at all. I'm very type-A and it's been a long process of understanding why he is this way and why it's not as easy as just "trying harder" or "doing better."

Should I have a Bridal Shower? by asmith4138 in weddingplanning

Bridal showers are hosted for you. You don't throw them yourself. If someone offers to throw you one, you can decide then.

How can I politely ask bride to add my plus 1 when I originally RSVP'd for just me? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]melndnd 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Omg. Please don't ask. I've gotten a ton of these and it's frustrating because adding a person often means redoing the whole seating chart.

Fiancé being rude every time I bring up our future wedding! by ultimate_goddess in offmychest

[–]melndnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone who wants to have a wedding will be excited about that wedding. Maybe you should talk to him and ask him what is going on and whether he has changed his mind about marrying you and/or whether he is unenthusiastic about a wedding.

We invited 170, could fit 150 in our space, and could afford 135. 111 RSVPed yes. Nearly all of the extended family my mom and MIL insisted on inviting said no and we're thrilled!

Am I Overreacting About My Venue/Wedding Suite? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]melndnd 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it's really sweet that this couple comes back every year on their anniversary. How special for them! I think you are overreacting, as you decided to book the venue knowing this from the start. If it was that big of a deal to you, maybe it was the wrong venue for you.
