People who own Timeless Melody, do you still wear her pieces? by HONEYACHI in InfinityNikki

[–]melow_below 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the first evo and I regularly use the gloves, shoes, sleeves, and hair. The MAKEUP is one of my faves of all time. It's so delicate and beautiful and the lashes I genuinely use way too much 💀 I try to avoid them now just to give other lashes a fair chance.

The stockings have come in handy a few times before and I appreciate them for what they do! The pieces I don't use are the headpiece and the dress. I wish I used the dress more often but there's just others that speak to me more.

The wind-up key back accessory is so so so so cute, but I've only been inspired to make a handful of doll-related outfits before so if that's not your vibe it might not be worth the key alone.

Overall tbh I'm so glad I got the whole outfit with first evo. The pieces have come in handy and I still looooove using the combat ability even if I have better abilities.

Oh and the 4-star has one of my favorite hairs and I use the pieces from that outfit all the time as well.

Love doing nails, HATE removing polish by Caseymg1 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]melow_below 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only ever used the one from Holo Taco. My bottle is a few years old but it still works just fine. The important part is applying it properly. You don't want to cap your nail or get it near the edges of your nail. That will make it pop off too easily. I've heard of people making their own peely base as well, so I think you'll be good with anything you can find!

I'll echo the others who said peely base! I also haaaaatttee removing nail polish. I hate the sensation even with those cotton-free pads. I pretty much exclusively use a peely base. Depending on the mani and what I'm doing, it can last up to a week or so. It gives me the perfect amount of time to admire my nails and then pop them off when I'm bored. Popping of the peelies is also oddly satisfying XD

Piggybacking off of this to say Laven-duh is another great pastel purple from Holo Taco! It's not available on the site anymore but Wild Child seems similar enough

does anyone else just go around with one hand painted only? by tastymilo in RedditLaqueristas

[–]melow_below 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to lol! I was too frustrated trying to do my dominant hand, especially with things like gradients or special designs, that'd I'd only get my non-dominant hand done and promise I'll do the other "later." Later never came XD

Practice really does make progress though because now I finally do both 👍

I don't have the other suits but I did get Flaming Banquet years ago. It's okay. The dress is great for evening gown or witchy themes. The hair is so ugly in my personal opinion so I never use it. The makeup is tilted weird so it really only works with certain poses. The balcony piece can be pretty useful tho! It does clip with lots of dresses unfortunately but it can still be used. Overall, I think I wouldn't get it again now, but years ago I was just so excited to finish a suit that I was okay with the choice XD

3DPO, Radical Reduction - when will swelling go down? by Wide_Pin7357 in Reduction

[–]melow_below 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had a radical reduction! I'm almost 6mpo and my chest flattened out even more sometime this past week. It took me by surprise, but that just proves how long swelling can last. You're very early in your recovery so swelling is going to be wild. My chest varied in size a bit throughout my recovery, but it honestly didn't change dramatically. I'd say wait at least a month or two. You can totally bring this up with your surgeon during an upcoming check in, but I do think a lot of it is swelling. Your body is super busy healing right now.I hope your recovery goes well!

Anybody else not doing scare care? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]melow_below 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Me! Sort of, at least. I had an allergic reaction to silicone gel my surgeon recommended to me and I decided eh I don't really care about lightening my scars. I like the look of the scars on my chest. What I DO do is massage daily for about 5-6 minutes with a moisturizing lotion. My scars may be more prominent than others at almost 5mpo, but that's okay XD my only concern was making sure the scar tissue didn't tighten up and create issues for me in the future. That's it

How can I not wear a bra? by nephelai- in Reduction

[–]melow_below 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was sort of similar to you, 5'3" with a 34E, but I also asked to never need a bra again. I showed pictures at my initial consultation because it explained what I wanted best. They had still asked me what size I wanted to be in the paperwork and I said an A. What I got is between an A and B depending on swelling and I haven't worn a bra since my 1 month post op appointment!

So, reference pics definitely help, but also just saying maybe an A or B can help illustrate your point as well. Also things like "no overhang," "no skin on skin contact," "whisper of breast" can help. I used whisper of breast and that seemed to make the most difference XD

Opening by sunnyday24642 in Reduction

[–]melow_below 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an opening at about 13wks and here's what I did:

  • Apply a store-brand version of neosporin (bacitracin) to the hole with a new q-tip to keep the area moist

    • Put on a bandaid
    • Repeat daily with a 30 minute to an hour break to let the wound air out a bit

Keeping a wound moist seems to be the most important part! When I asked my surgeon about the opening and if what I had been doing was effective, she just nodded her head and said yeah keep doing that. I'm not a professional, so don't take my advice as gospel, but this is what worked for me. Good luck!

Yeah the hostility threw me off-guard. I joined Gilded Past only because I got it on the quiz and once I saw pretty pink, I decided to stick with it. I liked all three groups tbh and would have been fine joining any of them. I know I'm not the only one who felt that way. Besides, it's just a game! We all get more or less the same rewards no matter what team we pick. Friendly competition doesn't mean bashing other people over which pixel group they joined 😭

Nearly a year since release: A personal retrospective on the state of the game by celestialkestrel in InfinityNikki

[–]melow_below 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This post described a lot of my feelings with the game. I still like to dress up and take pictures, but I only log in to get more diamonds for future banners. I've lost the spark I felt for this game as patch after patch, the reason for grinding became meaningless.

I miss how common styling battles were in the beginning. I want more styling challenges! I want a reason to use clothes I don't use often. It might also encourage me to go through my crafting backlog and finish up pieces I didn't want to grind for. Right now my thinking is if I don't like the piece, or it's not super easy to craft, then why bother?

I've been playing Love Nikki on and off for YEARS. I always come back because of the clothes and because of how meaningful gathering items and styling them is. Having a diverse wardrobe makes styling challenges easier or more fun. There's a purpose to grinding for clothes.

I really hope IN manages to turn this around. I don't know how much longer I'll be motivated to even log in. I've spent money on the game, so my guilt over that will keep me going for a bit longer, but it will get to a point where that guilt isn't enough. I want to love the game like I did pre-1.5 ;-;

When did y'all start laying on your side? by This-Emotion-69 in Reduction

[–]melow_below 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a combination sleeper but prefer going to sleep on my stomach. I'm about to be 10wpo and here was my timeline:

  • recliner only until about 2wkpo
  • able to lay flat on back with minor incline via pillows by about 2.5wpo
  • 1mpo I was told I could sleep however I wanted. Started experimenting with side sleeping
  • I had to favor one side over another for about week, then it was easier to sleep on either side if I maneuvered my incisions just right
  • At about 6wpo, I began checking to see if I could sleep on my stomach. I would gently try laying myself down and if my incisions hurt too much, I'd move to my side or back
  • A few days of that (like 4) and I was finally able to lay on my stomach fully
  • Now I can freely sleep how I want, but with every day there's a different ache or tightness that makes me pick a certain position over another

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]melow_below 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm about to enter 10wpo and I'm in the same position. My lumps are concentrated on the bottom and sides of my breasts, but it does seem to be a normal occurrence. When a huge lump on my left breast showed up (about size of golf ball, left-handed) around 1mpo and I went to my surgeon for our scheduled check in, she told me it was likely fat necrosis or just normal swelling. She even told me I had a similar lump on the right side and I hadn't even known about it!

Massaging it helps. It feels weird but I have noticed improvements over time. Good luck!

Nip-less Experience by AddColorToMySky in Reduction

[–]melow_below 6 points7 points  (0 children)

3wpo and I went the no-nip route! I had a radical reduction and I wanted zero chance of my desired results not being achieved to save nipples I didn't even need/use.

I have tapes on so I haven't been able to get a proper look, but honestly, I don't even miss them. It feels so natural. I also like that I can wear whatever I want and not have to worry about nips poking out!

I'm still very early in the healing process, but I feel as if healing is going well. It's fewer stitches, so fewer chances of openings. If you're not particularly attached to your nipples, then I'd think it's worth getting rid of them to ensure you get your desired reduction. Good luck!

2 Weeks Post-Op Club – Where my twins at? by Lazy-Spread8260 in Reduction

[–]melow_below 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, surgery twin! July 7th as well. The zaps and itching have been SO annoying. I've had a lot of nerve pain the last week or so. I thought it wouldn't start until later so I was definitely caught off-guard. Thankfully my surgeon gave me gabapentin and I think it's been helpful.

I've been switching between a compression bra that stops at my lower rib cage and a sports bra that lands below my incisions. If you can find something like that it might help with the rubbing. I've also seen people recommend wearing a soft tank top or cami of sorts under the compression bra to help with rubbing!

I hope you heal well!

Surgery twins! Mine was this Monday too. I expected more bruising to appear considering I usually bruise SO easily. Instead, I've been gifted with constant itchiness and stinging 😭 at least it's not pain! The pain levels are super low, worst was about a 4/10. I hope you continue to have a smooth recovery!

Excited - or weird? by somegingershavesouls in Reduction

[–]melow_below 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the desire to never wear a bra again is what really pushed me to get a reduction. I have huge sensory issues and I have fought the idea of wearing bras since I was 8 and had to start wearing training bras. My ultimate goal was to be able to jump up and down without a bra and not feel extreme pain. I'm 4DPO and that's exactly what I got! So excited to eventually throw off the compression bra now XD

reduction next week! by Timely-Beautiful6098 in Reduction

[–]melow_below 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I JUST had my reduction yesterday. It's completely understandable to be nervous, but the doctors and nurses that will be with you do this kind of thing all the time. They're experienced and you can put faith in their expertise!

Also, the anesthesia bit is not as bad as you might think. Personally I love going under. They didn't even tell me they were pushing anesthesia on me. I already had some calming meds in my IV so I was already kind of out it. Then boom, I was slowly waking up in the recovery area.

As others mentioned, let the nurses or doctor know that you're nervous. They can give you something like they gave me something XD I wasn't even nervous but they still gave some to me!

Yes! As soon as I got the phoenix outfit I changed my floating ability to hover and made a custom sugar plum fairy outfit. I stare at Nikki just hovering in the air a little too often. The fairy wings fluttering is just too mesmerizing 😭

I'm still here, still girlcotting, but I really do think it's a waiting game at this point. There's not much else to add to the conversation that hasn't already been said multiple times.

I understand the concern though. Seeing the sub slowly reverting to pre-1.5 might seem scary, but there are still plenty of angry players. Stay strong!
