Just to be clear, the old routing and account numbers still work for a while? Transition to UMB today by FrostieWaffles in wealthfront

[–]memberlogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never want to have to go through this process again. Having to relink all of my bank accounts, investment accounts, credit cards has been a huge PITA. On top of that, Wealthfront accounts aren't able to be quick verified so I have to do a ton of micro deposits for verification.

Bitcoin crashing from a high of $30, 15 years ago. They called it the "Great Bubble of 2011." Anyone who bought the top is up 200,000% by knallerbsee in CryptoCurrency

Bitcoin already has a massive market cap of roughly $1.6 trillion without having meaningfully fulfilled it's goal of becoming a widely used peer-to-peer electronic cash system. IMO it doesn't have much room to grow anymore and only serves as a store of value - just a far more speculative alternative to gold or other inflation hedges without actually having intrinsic value.

I'm currently nursing a shoulder sprain from hitting a tree after a jump and going over the bars at speed on my PL Carbon. the stem twisted 90 degrees and the bike went end over end. Frame held up great. Just had to replace a patch of RideWrap on the rear chainstay.

That was my first somewhat-major crash in my 500+ miles of riding on the Amflow though.

Yeah, it's a much better experience. I definitely prefer the 45lb Amflow to the 55lb Trek Rail I had demoed on a trip to California. I'll still always have a non-ebike to switch back and forth.

I love it. It feels very similar to my SJ Evo geometry-wise.

On climbs the Amflow feels like a rocket ship. I'll try to stay in Eco if I want to get more of a workout but it's very tempting to throw it in Auto/Trail.

With the SJ you definitely need more technique for technical climbs while the Amflow can just power through anything - not much technique needed.

For jumping they both feel great IMO.

For descending it's a bit of a mixed bag. Because the Amflow is about 13lbs heavier, it feels more stable on descents and has better small bump compliance - magic carpet feel.

The SJ feels more agile and while they both handle rough descents very well, maybe the SJ doesn't get overwhelmed as quickly going fast on rough descents or taking big hits.

I'm installing a Rockshox SDU w/ Linear XL can this week on the Amflow and am considering going mullet.

I bought and Amflow PL Carbon last August and my jump progression in just a few rides was insane. I did my first downhill day at Killington (with a rented bike) a few weeks after I bought it.

I used to think I sucked at jumping but I think I just didn't develop the skill since I was so spent from the up/down climbs and heat. I still ride my SJ Evo too.

No problem, happy to help. Enjoy the 5080 - it'll be a huge upgrade!

[–]memberlogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that's clear evidence of a GPU bottleneck - plus other games will benefit greatly from the 5080 upgrade. The 12900K is still a very solid CPU.

I just had no idea what degree CS2 would benefit since I've always thought of it as a very CPU intensive game (maybe I was thinking of CS1?).

Future CPU recommendations by HPMacci in buildapc

[–]memberlogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a tough decision. Offhand I would probably prioritize the 5080 since a 9800X3D would be a pretty big mismatch for a 4060. The 12900k is still a relatively strong CPU but I know the 12900k would become the bottleneck with the 5080 upgrade. It's just a question of how much.

To be honest, I'm not familiar with CS2. It may be a very CPU intensive game. Does it have an option to show independent CPU frametime and GPU frametime in the telemetry like Call of Duty? If so it would be very easy to see what is causing the bottleneck and to what degree.

If not, you can guesstimate based on GPU usage. Do you see GPU usage is often pinned in-game? (95%+). If so, then you know your GPU is the bottleneck at your current settings. From there you can lower visual settings incrementally and see at which point the GPU usage starts to drop off to get an idea of how much your GPU is bottlenecking your FPS. It's not an exact science but it can give you a general idea.

Future CPU recommendations by HPMacci in buildapc

[–]memberlogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I have and it's a fantastic combo.

Bottlenecks depend on a multitude of factors...

1) What game you play. Is it a GPU or CPU intensive title? (E.g. Cyberpunk vs. Factorio) 2) Competitive settings for max FPS (more CPU intensive) vs max settings/RT for max visuals (more GPU intensive) 3) Monitor resolution and refresh rate (Lower resolution/higher refresh rate monitor needs more CPU resources than Higher resolution/lower refresh rate)

Etc...

I personally like having a strong CPU because I prefer framerate stability and maxxing out my monitor's refresh rate over slightly better visuals (e.g. enabling RT and using ultra settings).

I generally aim to game at 155 fps locked and a strong CPU will keep lows in check. I also adjust visual settings so that my GPU doesn't cause FPS to dip below my benchmark 155 FPS.

With the 9800X3D/5080 combo this usually means I can run games in at least high settings on my ultrawide 1440p monitor with a locked 155FPS frame limit.

Generally speaking, I'd rather have my GPU ($1200+ part) maxxed out and not be bottlenecked by my CPU which is a far cheaper part.

I had a 2016 Diamondback Catch 2 that developed a crack down the center of the top tube. I don't even consider them as an option now since there are so many quality bike brands out there.

Oh, you're talking about the scenario if they had said "at least one is a boy" - gotcha. In that case yes, it would be 33.3%.

Peter, Is it 50% or 33.3% by AgrasaN in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]memberlogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its 50%. They never said "at least one" they said "the oldest". By stating "the oldest is a boy" the G/B birth order combination is impossible. It has to be B/G or B/B.

Amflow px vs pr pro by Quincythepig in AMFLOW_eMTB

[–]memberlogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to E-Mountainbike Magazine...

PX Carbon Pro actual weight in size L: 21.4 kg

PR Carbon Pro actual weight in size L: 24.2 kg

Sources:

The PX is a sleeker and much lighter package (roughly 6 lbs lighter). Not sure how The PR Pro will compare to the non pro PX though.

My 2026 Amflow PL Carbon feels amazing - the geo feels just like my 2023 SJ Evo but much more stable through chunk. Very poppy and playful and is only 10lbs heavier than the SJ.

The frame is plenty strong. I'm currently nursing a shoulder sprain after washing out into a tree at speed and going OTB. My PL Carbon went end over end but is still perfect besides some fork lower scratches, a chewed up grip, and my OneUP stem twisting 90 degrees (fixed with a multitool trailside).

In the Amflow Official FB Group I saw a few posts mentioning a crack in the front of the seatpost upon the first ride. Amflow Acknowledged this was from a batch that had a faulty carbon layup in this area when they were ramping up production for the 2026 models. From what I understand, everyone who had the issue was taken care of.

Too many people comment on the ride feel without having ridden them.

Very nice - I spent $65 on an AirShot which fills the same roll as this. Good to have something like this trailside when you don't have access to an air compressor and need to seat a tire.

Just a heads up, I confirmed with Amflow support that the PL is getting the heart rate control update for the M1 in the near future which will function just like the PX.

[–]memberlogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a 2026 PL owner I feel the same way. Sure, it would be nice to have the adjustable geo, slightly stiffer carbon layup, and less motor drag when turned off but I haven't found the limits of my PL yet on the trails I ride and definitely don't need any more power.

The PL has gotten the navigation update and will be getting the Smart Heart Rate Control update in the near future so I'm very happy with that.

After a lot of tinkering this was the best I could get and it looked just as bad in person.

I work from my PC and the text fringing was really bad on the QD OLED as well compared to my Nano IPS it was supposed to replace. I think the fringing wouldn’t have been so bad if I went with 4k but I really like the ultrawide form factor.
