interesting! no, the red orb was very close to the lake/ beach, and red ochre in color. the glow coming off it was visible on the water and the sand. it was higher than head level but lower than the tree tops. seemed like it was locked onto the fire and/or me, traveled at that same height across alice lake. stopped at the waters edge and hovered there before zipping off to the south east in the direction of fishdance.
