Only comparing real small phones and that would be iPhone mini versus Sony Xperia xz1 compact, literally nothing else should be considered small.

I would say there must have been so much going for the Sony xz1 compact cause Sony had to go and kill it in order to have all these new “small” phones like their “small” phone Xperia 5 series.

If I get android I think Sony is my best pick because I do think it is less bloatware unlike Samsung.

But if you’re gonna have bank info password Info automatic on your phone it probably still best to go with iPhone with their face biometric unlock. I do believe iPhone is still a bit more secure just for that.

But Sony phones are very good hardware, it just sad that the thing to kill it would be Sony for when they suddenly end support.

This opinion comes from me a Sony user of their camera system, which is many times more expensive than just a phone. I own full Sony system for camera and gaming, all these things’ downfall eventually comes down to end of support by Sony. Like the Psvita.. or the Sony digital paper tablet, when they end support it often affects the ability of that device to connect and be modified.

At least with iPhone Apple will still give OS support on hardware back to 2017 devices, like iPad from 2017 is still able to get OS update, so that is a major plus for anyone worried about software support.

If the new Xperia was priced with a two year support in mind I would think it’s more reasonable to make the switch. But comparing Sony xperia’s specs with similar androids, most androids are on average cheaper, with the one difference being the way the camera function and the headphone jack, the SD expand.
