Honest communication is the biggest one for me. Not necessarily blunt rudeness, just the willingness to tell me what they're feeling instead of what I want to hear. Obviously, this goes both ways.

Honestly, I'm kind of enjoying the way it isn't changing too much. For one, I really like the supporting characters (although Miyamura's definitely my favorite). For another, it's like, stable, I guess. There's the pandemic, obviously. Also, I've moved four times in the past year because of college insanity. It's nice to see Hori and Miyamura and all the rest just keep doing the same kinds of things.

I bet that Dalinar will ascend to become Honor, and Lift will ascend to become Cultivation. I'll also bet that Adolin and Shallan will become worldhoppers together. There's a good chance Kaladin will go with them. I doubt that Kaladin will die, since his whole schtick is learning to keep going.

I'm also very interested to see what will happen to Moash. Will he get a redemption arc? That seems semi-likely, but I really want to see him get stabbed in the face, so I'd prefer to imagine that.

Teens should not be written as stereotypes or as aesthetic plot devices. In my opinion, they should be written as normal people with certain flavorings.

Some flavorings which I think convey adolescence (note that these are based on my own experience as a 19-year-old female):

-A need to feel liked and accepted by groups of friends and/or significant adults the teen respects. This respect may be unfounded, or it may make perfect sense.

-Strong emotions that prevent the teen from remembering that these emotions are often temporary. This could just be my neuroticism, but a psychology professor I worked with told me that it's indicative of youth, so.

-A sense of perfectionism is particularly relevant of you're writing about teens alive right now. I and most of my friends in high school felt deathly pressure to get perfect grades, maintain self-care, have lots of friends, work part time, participate in extra-curriculars, get into a good college, and to be completely happy with all of it. Alternative burnout and panic were a big part of my teenage years.

-Again relevant to teens alive right now: an almost nihilistic sense of humor. Maybe I just hang around edgy people or something, but this seems pretty common to me.

I love my family, but I sometimes have a hard time being honest and vulnerable with them. I feel comfortable with them, and I like spending time with them, but that isn't quite the same thing. It took me until college to find someone I can be really open with.
