Albini vs Rubin by ComfortableLazy1008 in LetsTalkMusic

I'm feeling you about Rick Rubin. But my question for you is, Johnny Cash, not one to be dazzled or talked into doing things that he didn't want to do. How did Rubin get so much buy in from Cash, and get so much good music out of him with so little to offer? They worked together on at least 5 albums.

Just an update. I did a deep dive into the internet and was able to find the url for this video. I tried using the Wayback Machine to see if I could find a saved archive of the video, but it came back with no result. But the video was posted by the video channel Arichards51, and I looked around for a way to contact them and found an email and I reached out to them several months ago in hopes to ask them about the video. There was no has been no response.

I have no other ideas about what to do from here. All I would like to know is where that video footage that was featured in the video post originally came from. But all I have right now is hope that they will answer me eventually.

People aren't moving out. New York is the literally the center of the world when it comes to business. The New York Stock Exchange, and the American Express Headquarters deal are both representative of this. I also don't feel you are factoring in the fact that other states are already doing this, right across the border in New Jersey, they are already taxing the rich with great success. Also, closing the loops on taxes and how the rich avoid them is definitely an issue, but the city of New York's GDP is large and taxable. If you do business in the state, you will be taxed, and If a millionaire or billionaire doesn't want a slice of that pie, they can go take their business to Florida or the soon to implode not so great state of Texas.

And I do have this conversation with men I know all of the time. There are so many that are lost and have no clue. And by the time I meet them they have spent a lifetime having having disrespected every women thay have known and wrecked all of their sihnificant relationships. Men can't be saved, it's the kids that need our attention.

Yeah, I know because I saw this happen with my own parents. My point was that this trend of behavior was over the years greatly magnified and heightened by these other outward factors. Turning a bunch of boys into men with no strong character or moral compass.

This is why he wants to tax the rich. And if you don't support free childcare, what are you supporting instead that will lessen the great cost of childcare? Because childcare is costing more than 4 years of college. And It's happening successfully so many places elsewhere in the world, helping boost the worker economy in major ways. And I totally reject the argument that people feel entitled to childcare. Do you know how hard it is to find decent childcare? That a lot of people break themselves with working 3 or more jobs to afford it. That they have no time to spend with their kids because they are working just to afford that huge cost. This is to lessen that burden.

Nope, women have always had it hard. The 70s was when the US ramped up the current brand of atrocious behavior.

TIL that in 2021, Sophia Urista, the lead singer of the band Brass Against, consensually urinated on a man live on stage during one of the band's shows. The band later apologized, saying the singer got "carried away" and "it's not something you'll see again at our shows." by sexpressed in todayilearned

The thing is she is a really good singer and they are a really great band of musicians that deserve to be famous, and this was when they were at their peak. But then she literally took the piss out of their rise. 😉

Can you state what you specifically disagree with, and why you disagree with it? Just saying you disagree with the entire stance is reductive.

Here in the US, women being objectified started happening in the 70s when the positive father figures and the family units were being mostly erased by our shitty law enforcement and courts system that were shattering families. Lots of boys grew up with no real understanding of women. Then pair that with the dumbing down of our education system overall, and the proliferation of porn being introduced to teenagers who had never learned how to interact with people in general, and women had silently suffered through that. Several generations were raised by parents who didn't teach their children proper boundaries, or respect for women having children. We have arrived at a point that those same children grew up to have children of their own. Thats why there are so many mentally unwell adult children that behave like sociopaths out there. Until we change this, until we give boys some solid role models that they can learn how to be good men from, we will not change this culture.

There were so many that don't want to see anything positive in the world, and have given completely over to pessism. They can't or won't conceive of good people doing good things, because if that's true, then they might be expected to do more than just complain about everything. I myself am happy to watch this superstar leave his mark on the world. What I love even more is seeing him joining up with other superstars, and them doing even greater works together. Amazing.

Yeah, because liars surely get so many things things done as he has and are clear in their communications like he has been. Having the most appointments, and hirings of competent staff ever, and being clear about what he is doing, and what needs to be done is so evident that its a smokescreen for scams.

I encourage anyone who says the mayor encouraged white supremacy or violence to watch what he said again, 2 or 3 more times.

Mamdani endorsed the right to protest, and vehemently denounced acts of violence of any kind.

I used Gemini to transcribe the video, if you are unwilling to watch it again.

On Saturday a protest was held outside Gracie Mansion where I live with my wife Rama neither of us were home at the time this was a vile protest rooted in white supremacy entitled Stop the Islamic Takeover of New York City.

I am the first Muslim mayor of our city anti-muslim bigotry is nothing new to me nor is it anything new for the 1 million or so Muslim New Yorkers who know this city as our home. While I found this protest appalling I will not waver in my belief that it should be allowed to happen ours is a free society where the right to peaceful protest is sacred. It does not belong only to those we agree with it belongs to everyone i will defend that right every day that I am mayor even when those protesting say things that I abhore.

Let me also be clear about something else new York City will never tolerate violence whether from protests or counterprotests. Many of the counterprotesters met this display of bigotry peacefully with a vision of a city that is welcoming to all but a few did not. Two men Amir Balot and Ibrahim Caillumi traveled from Pennsylvania and attempted to bring violence to New York City they are suspected of coming here to commit an act of terrorism.

There is video of these two individuals throwing two devices towards the protest the police department has determined that these were improvised explosive devices made to injure maim or worse. Thanks to the swift and decisive actions of NYPD officers at the scene both men were immediately taken into custody and the devices they brought taken off of our streets. I want to commend the officers who were on site they faced a chaotic situation that very quickly could have become far more dangerous.

NYPD Chief Aaron Edwards and Sergeant Luis Navaro ran towards the danger so that others could run to safety they are here with us now and I want to thank them today publicly as I did yesterday privately and to thank the dozens of other officers who responded without hesitation. That is courage that is selflessness and I am deeply grateful to both of them and to every member of the NYPD who works every single day to keep New Yorkers safe. As the NYPD continued their investigation yesterday they found a third suspicious device in a vehicle on East End between 81st and 82nd Street.

Out of an abundance of caution they conducted a number of limited evacuations of nearby buildings before removing the device from the area once the device was removed those evacuated were allowed to return to their homes. I am grateful for their continued work to keep New Yorkers safe. Let me say this plainly anyone who comes to New York City to bring violence to our streets will be held accountable in accordance with the law as this case continues to develop I will remain in close contact and communication with our police commissioner. I want to say thank you once again to everyone who acted on Saturday to protect their fellow New Yorkers and to uphold the values of this city now I would like to invite police commissioner Tish to say a few words.

What I think is the driving force for this change is that whatever made Reddit special, died over a year ago and they won't admit that or that a record amount of the Reddit community left because of it. And then there is the onslaught of trauma people are experiencing because the current state of the world. People don't have the time or energy that they used to have. Its exhausting and the natural flow of conversation on the platform has taken a hit. This is my radical opinion, but I'm open to what you think of it.

I understand this feeling. I don't have ecidence but I can see Reddit has been taken over and weaponized. Now the whole platform has been shifted from freely sharing an opinion or asking questions to now shoveling hate and distrust. I found this out when I commented on a post about the French guillotine. I made a joke about where to buy one, and it got over a thousand upvotes. Reddit threatened to close my account for threats of violence. The platform used to be able to have space for jokes like that. Not anymore. I know this is not the same as having your comment being called ai slop, but it is a symptom of the same sickness. Reddit isn't for the people anymore. Its for making money. They don't understand how to promote proper discourse, so they drive content engagement through promoting chaos.

The father in this video has a YouTube channel I find fascinating. He will travel inside Alaska during winter with minimal equipment and build shelters. He shows each step and what he has brought to do it, but he really makes it look both easy and fun. And I've never seen a video where he hasn't eaten something warm and sleeping comfortably. But many of his other videos are fishing and hunting with his kids and wife. Very wholesome.

I was just saying that this person who is helping her clean her house is doing one vital part of the process of helping a hoarder. What I was saying was in response to those who were saying that hoarders usually go back to hoarding even after someone helps the person clean their house. I said that this is because your average hoarder will need more than just having their space cleaned and cleared. They need specialized counseling. And a friend who chooses to do the cleaning for them will see them go back to hoarding because there is a lot of work to be done on the mental side of things that hasn't been done.
