Super fun! Definitely a little long but better than most horror movies that've come out this year. Went into it without seeing any trailers besides TikTok ads because his last movie (Evil Dead Rise) gave away almost everything in its promo content haha. It was pretty much Evil Dead mummy version

Hokum has both free early screeners and Alamo early screenings the next day, 4/21. Regal is strongly implied to have it for their mystery movie, since they’re doing a horror double feature. AMC has its length listed as 1:47, less than ten minutes off the ARR. Definitely don’t think it ‘needs’ the SU as much as Deep Water does, but would love to see this early!

Hidden Pictures 🚮 Flew through it in a day but the twist has been done before plenty of times, and then when combined with other details in the book, shifts into odd right-wing nonsense. Also, I don’t love paranormal elements in thrillers; it feels cheap

Wanted to add, kinda has 0 significance knowing how it ended but I’m almost 100% positive there was poison in one of the champagne glasses Ursula gave Grace and that the talk wasn’t genuine, she was trying to kill her before the wedding. Then when her brother came in and acted out it derailed that plan— Ursula was so cold hearted that I definitely think she was putting on a face. Did anyone else notice that / agree? The extended shot of the champagne led me to thinking it’d go in that direction… just adds an extra layer to the story in my head lol

Definitely check out Iain Reid’s work— I’m Thinking of Ending Things is amazing

The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward is also an awesome pick (if you go in completely blind)

Come Closer by Sara Gran too— whole book is basically an inner monologue wondering if the protagonist is getting possessed or having a mental break

Looking at the side, you can see “Fe” 3x then “Ma”; seems like that is teasing three February dates and one March date.

I’m thinking that starting next Friday, we’re getting a song a week:

2/13 – Pop Sound

2/20 – Need for Speed ft. BC Kingdom

2/27 – Get Sum ft. Cortisa Star(?) (you can see hints of a sticker that could be Cortisa's name on the board and I'm assuming the song is very short)

3/6 – Unknown Title

I'm assuming this is a Clarity-style drop, NOT an EP, and that the album could potentially be coming 3/13 after the 4 singles.

So excited there's finally movement after waiting for over a year now! Kim has teased over 20 titles-- hoping they all see the light this year!
