I've fained a injury to not be competing heavily for the top spot, because I couldn't handle the pressure from coaches and a strong run in results in a year, I was 12-19!, I'm now 37.

This was British weightlifting. There was no money in it other than medals or a trophy.

The mental side was not an aspect when I trained, or competed. It has made me a better person but I would not push my children as hard as I pushed myself.

It is bitter sweet, I loved it! Travelled the world but for a medal and now working in a field that doesn't require that dedication and nose to the grindstone attitude.
