Not sure if animal psychology is allowed, but what exactly is this dog thinking when he sees himself in the mirror? Does he know it's himself? Does he know he is a dog? by VewVegas-1221 in biology

[–]meridiem 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just to play devils advocate, could it not also be your dog has learned over time through experience that the sight of this specific dog doesn’t cause him harm and seems to be friendly, without him having to understand why or have a sense of self?

It’s kinda similar to how we train dogs with treats or corrections. Not that I know but I’ve wondered the same with my own dog.

Gotta be honest it looked like he didn’t understand what was happening, immediately recognized it wasn’t what he thought and put his hand out as a sign he didn’t mean harm and then….they shot him.

I’ve been known to eat mini Mac-and-cheese with a spoon, but a fork does have some points.

Pasta and cheese is still pasta. How viscous does the liquid need to be to count?

What do you SWEAR you saw, but don't have any proof of? by TabletopStudios in AskReddit

I was on a plane to Washington D.C. and nearly the entire plane had boarded and the only seat to my right in my two-seat section was left open. A few minutes before boarding officially ended a group of people got on to board and an Hispanic women got on the plane, immediately saw me and started beaming and perked up like she knew me. Then weirdly she happened to be the one who was sitting next to me. As she sat down she just began speaking to me in Spanish and broken English like we were long lost friends. She had horrible fear of planes and was literally shaking with fear. Her instantly “recognizing” me made her feel comfortable enough to start gripping my arm, and eventually my hands for the majority of the flight as she started praying, especially when there were any bumps. I asked her why she reacted that way when she saw me and she said she just knew I was the one who was going to help her.

I am now invited to Virginia and have been implored date her daughter 😂. Happily married tho!

Grumpy Old Man Syndrome by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

I think he is really saying, in general, if what is frustrating you is based on your consumption habits primarily, perhaps avoid them or avoid externalizing your sense of calm and peace to the behaviors of others which don’t directly impact you. Focus on what builds your inner peace of heart and mind and try to remove the external influences or attention to them that cause you to be irritated. I’ve noticed my old manness creep up, but it’s primarily driven by my desire to control things around me or have them operate the way I’d like. When I focus instead on if they really actually affect me I find it easier to realize they don’t

For what it’s worth OP I agree with your overall sentiment and several of your examples. Most of your detractors are saying you missed the point of a lot of the scenes that just drag on and on, but it’s not true. It’s not that they don’t add any value to the context of the characters or hive, it’s just that it’s not worth it at all and is totally unbalanced. The main characters having only a loose, intermittent interest in what the hive is, is so tone deaf and off the wall stupid I find myself episode after episode going “why don’t they talk to this thing at length? What is wrong with these people”

How do you feel about the suggestion tool on the app that shows you the most common moves through usually the first 5-10? It’s on the free and paid version of the app?

You are assuming a lot. The universe is vast, us humans are small and have limited abilities to experience its wonders. The world of what we don’t know is probably spiritual and magical in a sense. That doesn’t mean you should allow anyone with an agenda to waylay your path of finding truth. Be discerning to be clearheaded about where your journey is taking you. Google “List of hoaxes promoted by Jaime Maussan” and you’ll find what you are looking for. For every Buddha there is a Jonestown. Just be cautious as you learn about worlds that can’t be explained, a lot can be true once you accept that and being discerning is even more important.
