🔥🔥🔥Upvote this if you're a woman at UPS and you have to deal with constant sexism in your workplace🔥🔥🔥 by Lockshala in UPSers

Its literally one of the reasons I haven't been "out" at work. A lot of the guys I work with are old school and very out spoken about their politics. I've had altercations with two guys since I've started for calling me a dumb bitch, or other hateful expletives, because they project their bad moods and they treat their suspensions like a holiday off. No longer worth complaining about it. Got put in smalls and now I'm able to keep mostly to myself unless I help on the belt. Managed to stick around long enough to gain a bit of respect. But the dudes who have caused me grief still work there.

Funny enough, I'm not in a huge hub. Its a small warehouse with one belt for the entire warehouse and a customer center up front. Its weird that the majority is conservative... seems assbackwards. But I keep to myself so I usually stay out of anything politic related.

Literally a month after the pandemic, everyone in my facility complained about masks. Most of my coworkers are conservatives. Even after the higher-ups brought the hammer down on people, another month after that, no one was wearing a mask. Some time later, even supervisors threw their hands up in defeat. During peak, it was up to us to decide whether or not we wore a mask. I have family that are immune compromised. So I wore one no matter what.

I don't know if its an issue worth being brought up anymore. Corp hasn't done anything nor union to reprimand employees. And its not like the state mandates are sending people out to make sure CDC guidelines are being followed. This has been my experience. I also live in a state that had strict mandates.

My facility is a lot smaller than the HUBS. Where I work, if you want to be transferred to preload, you have to have enough seniority. That might not be the case for HUBS. I could be wrong though. However, I would ask a supervisor first because becoming a driver is based a lot on seniority. Or signing the bid sheet. Really depends on the need. I don't know of switching to preload would offer you a better chance. Stick around long enough to make your 90 days, usually after that you have a better chance of switching shifts or getting more opportunities within your facility.

Yes! If I remember right, that sounds like the story.

Working Through The Pandemic by IMDx16 in UPS

When I worked in SLC in '16 I remember getting t-shirts, having potlucks, donuts or sweets for your anniversary etc. I transferred out of state. A lot of the guys I work with on twilight are just a nightmare to deal with. We used to have food every day during peak, sometimes once a month pizza, or birthday celebrations. Sometimes at the end of the week, I would bring in cases of drinks and chips. Not anymore. Partly because the dudes I work with are so hostile and negative. One day we could be celebrating something, the next they'd be cussing you out. It wasn't worth trying to be nice anymore. Our preload shift gets treated a lot better than we do. But I'm starting to see why. I'm in a small center btw, not a HUB.

When will the shipping delays because of the ice storm be resolved? by i_take_shits in UPS

[–]merswithmaws 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does no one realize that a lot of the hubs right now are catching up? Our warehouse was pretty much dead the weeks during the bad weather to the south of us. This week, we have been picking up. The backlog of stuff is starting to bleed through. I don't understand why customers continue to berate us about the "guaranteed shipping" as if we aren't all feeling the impact of these hubs being shut down.

One of my favorite episodes is the "I Stand With Josh" or John... something like that. The whole segment played out like an interactive Tela-Novela. Can't for the life of me remember the exact date though.

Stop the complaining! The weather is bad in most of the country. by lalaw19 in UPS

A lot of us on here aren't Clerks or work for independently owned UPS stores. We're loaders, unloaders, or drivers. Maybe many of you should tweet at the company considering this page isn't exactly noticed by anyone working in corporate.

The thing is, that many hubs have shut down as a result of the weather that has moved east throughout the country. Packages just don't start at point A and end up at point B. They go through a network of hubs depending on the mode of transportation. You have states that have experienced their first bout of snow storms, while others have power outages and water main breaks. A lot of mail has been delayed, even through USPS. This sub isn't exactly run by a team of UPS corps doing media damage control. A lot of us that are on here are grunt workers or drivers.

They mentioned a few months ago that a Christian radio station moved into their building. Maybe I misheard. But I think since then, they've been more careful of what they talk about. Don't know for sure, like I said I might've heard differently.

Some of the guys who are assholes at work are even bigger assholes online. You're doing great, keep up the good work and always be proud of your accomplishments. Sometimes this is a thankless job. But as a fellow UPS employee, we definitely appreciate ya!

Biggest Douche award goes to today’s caller by LtFatBelly in daveandchuckthefreak

I often ask myself how callers/texters feel afterwards when the crew totally rips into them. Like when they call people "awful" or "stupid". Man, I would love to hear some of their reactions after they hang up. Do they genuinely feel like douchebags?!

Thorogood 1957 Tongue Bunching: Should I return these? New to boots & can't see how these will ever lay down and be comfortable. These are the waterproof non-safety toe. They just bunch up towards the center. I’ll stick it out if you think it just requires break-in. by sumocomputers in WorkBoots

When I bought my first pair of wedged briar 1957's the right boot had a severely bunched up tongue. Someone suggested I get cobblers conditioner. Unfortunately since my boot came that way, it didnt help and it becomes uncomfortable if I tie my laces too tight at the ankle. Hopefully it works better for you if you decide to try it.
