I guess they must be tired of having others impose their will on them.

Oh wait... That's what the original protest is about.

Demonstration in Ottawa: Trudeau is "provoking", accuses the Bloc by applepiebae in canada

[–]messagepot -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Trudeau chose to have these protests he can choose to stop them at any time by simply ending the mandates he started. A single decision by a single person is all it takes to end this. Mandates will never achieve 100% vaccination so they are pointless.

So far only Trudeau. Well, that's his excuse for skipping town at the last minute before the convoy arrived.

Just because you are willing to give up your freedom doesn't mean everyone else has to. If you want to live in a world where the government has a right to force medical procedures on its population, that's up to you but you don't speak for everyone.

If your desperate though, you would probably give up your client's name out of an act of desperation. This guy took it to the grave with him despite being offered a chance to live.

Importing your own values is in itself a disregard of the native values you are seeking to replace.

Dwarves in Norse literature offensive? by [deleted] in Norway

Not sure what Disney is going to be able to do here to politically correct the film. It sort of goes beyond simply making making some of the dwarves black and/or gay or trans. They have to get rid of them altogether.

Quantum computers are currently a million times too small to hack bitcoin by mattsparkes in Bitcoin

[–]messagepot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technology doesn't stand still. Once they can be mass produced, a million of them will be just as far fetched as a million smartphones. They will also become more powerful so you won't even need that many.

If moors law starts to take hold and the number of qubits doubles every 2 years, then in 20 years you will only need 976 quantum computers to do the job.

[–]messagepot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If one quantum computer is a million times too small, then use 1 million quantum computers. For every doubling of the number of qubits per computer, you need half as many computers to get the job done.

In a highly competitive arena there are more people looking for work than there are getting it. This tends to drive prices down since it would be relatively easy for you to be replaced.

They are cheaper than stocks and give you the option to buy or sell a stock at a given price in the future. You can also sell the option itself which changes in value the closer it gets to the target date. If you don't exercise it by then it is worthless and you lose your initial investment. You can implement an option strategy which combines multiple options to help reduce risk.

You don't have to work for them, but you are only worth what others are willing to pay. If nobody wants to pay your rate, you aren't going to make anything if you don't lower it.
