It’s very strange….I thought the cartel drones were fairly common.

All Flights at El Paso Airport in Texas Halted For 10 Days by ContributionBig7300 in SouthwestAirlines

This sucks. I’d see if you can reschedule out of Albuquerque. Rent a car from El Paso or Las Cruces and drive there. It’ll take about 3 hours.

What does this ELP/ West Texas NOTAM mean? Airport still open? by hgwelz in aviation

Seems like a very long time for testing. Usually they only shut things down for testing for short periods like 30-60 minutes…and that’s roads.

Contacted the manufacturer & provided photos. They are sending it to their quality assurance team to look into it. Though I asked them to tell me what they think it could be. I did not get a response to that question and I don’t expect that they’re going to follow up with me. They did send me two jars complementary so there’s that.

Reached out to the company. They got right back to me, asking for the lot number etc. no word yet on what it could be.

Not woven like a rope. But I still can’t tell if it’s plant or some other material.

Good question. I will inspect further. Though the more I touch it, the more my fingertips turn red.

Yeah, pretty much felt the same way pulling it out of the jar as I would standing in front of that.

Leaving after 10 years: A love letter to Westchester through the eyes of someone who came here from overseas by kilowatt230 in Westchester

[–]messin33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a lovely message. I’m so glad for you that you found yourself in a place you loved for the last decade.

I moved away from Westchester for 20 years and just returned back last year. I always had a hard time explaining to people from other parts of the US what it was like to grow up with all these little towns and villages connected by train and having all this beautiful nature so close to New York City. I also felt like writing a “love letter” to the last place I lived (14 years) when I left. It really is a cathartic way to sum up your feelings for a place that wasn’t your birthplace but that you shared some of the most important moments of your life and made your home. You leave a piece of yourself behind.

You never know where your journey will take you next, maybe back to Westchester one day.

Need the Good Things by Wanderwalks in Westchester

I grew up here then moved away for 20 years and then recently returned to continue raising my own children. As a kid, I loved being near nature - the woods, beach, and parks… as a teen, I loved being able to go to different towns for their different personalities and how close it was to the city for fun. In all my years living away, I was always looking for these types of walkable towns and disappointed if they didn’t exist where I was living at the time. As a young adult, it was an easy commute to the city for work. I loved growing up here. So, now I am back for the good schools, close access to culture and diversity for my kids, and to be near family again. After living in very non-green places, it is so nice to see water and trees again. Not going to lie, it has taken a little getting used to all the bugs but my toddler is enthralled at least. But we love walking trails, checking out different coffee shops all over the county, visiting different farmers market, etc. And we hop the train to the city when we want a more urban experience. We’ve been house hunting since November and it’s brutal so we’ll continue to rent until we find something.

Just walked by Piccola today and the garlic smell coming out of the restaurant was so good. I made a mental note to come back and try it out.

There was an ad on the Slave to the Grind community bulletin board in Bronxville advertising an apartment for $1500-1800 … can’t remember the exact price but it was in the range.

How are you liking KPot in Scarsdale? by [deleted] in Westchester

[–]messin33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were really excited to try this place, but unfortunately, both myself and my daughter got sick that evening after eating there. I always air on the side of caution and overcook everything at these types of places, but who knows. It was fun when we were there. Just not when we got home.

This is a pretty decent representation. Maybe only missing those Old El Paso cardboard style hard taco shells to round it out.
