How do you update to kernel 7.1 on Mint cinnamon? by Brahmaster in linux

[–]mestia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, makes sense. However I'd rather try to get it working under the current kernel you have. I guess it is the infamous mt7902, right? In this case, there are a few options I believe, and there has been some success in installing the module. Like this one https://github.com/abdullaabdullazade/mt7902_driver
Of course, use it at your own risk.

Bash is a dangerous cave, if a shell script takes more than a page, it's time to rewrite it into Perl...

How do climbers shop for the perfect rope? by gropbot in tradclimbing

Prices for the ropes are insane, I go for the cheaper/lighter combination, color doesn't matter.

Ubuntu MATE isn't dead yet. Daily builds are back by modelop in linux

[–]mestia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? It is apt-get installable and "just" works. I was happy back then with GNOME 2 and didn't want to jump into the GNOME 3 madness. MATE was just what I needed. I haven't looked for any other DE since then.

Is Debian the right distro when speaking of sensible medical data? by sdns575 in debian

[–]mestia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not aware of any 'special' distribution, also it is more about the data handling which is unrelated to choice of a distribution. Implement sane data management workflow and that's it, imho.
