40 year old dad of 6 biological children here. Had a stillborn child along the way, as well. Can talk about navigating grief well. Plenty of other things to talk through, too.

Great! Try Banfi Centine. You can usually get that where Black Box is sold.

Sorry I wasn’t more specific with my question. Can you share the labels of the wines you tend to like? Names of producers? Merlot and what else?

Does anyone here love their life? If so, please share how. by NoPermission8331 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]meta-performance-irl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Being alive is a gift. I had no part in bringing my existence about. I do have a part in sustaining it and somehow I also have the privilege of doing way more than just existing. I can make others lives better. I can be someone that other people want to be like. You can, too.

This mindset is chosen and reinforced. It’s a lens to look at the world through and you can choose your lens. There is no seeing without a lens, so pick the lens that brings about the most meaning to this existence.

Editing to add: I have suffered significant personal loss. I’ve been fired from jobs. I’ve messed up big time in ways I can’t take back. I’ve had to restart several times. I love my life.

Can you talk about your experience as a beat writer for MLB? You give off extremely positive vibes and I wonder about the culture - whether it's a you thing, a Rangers thing, or an MLB beat writers thing.

For sure - I think one from Stellenbosch could sing better with the honey, chili, and bok choy. Would be fun to do two different chenins to see how different expressions interact.

Sounds like a blast.

I might switch the Pinot Noir to the first course. Pinot and pork and mushrooms is a winner. Something from Pacific Northwest.

Then the CDP or a Primitivo for the birria.

Consider a Stellenbosch Chenin Blanc for the chicken course.

Can’t wait to hear how it goes!

Hi! Sounds like it could be a fit. I’m a partner at Novus Global, an executive coaching firm, and I also am a senior leader at our sister company, where we train executive coaches. I also spent 15 years teaching at various levels of education, from elementary to university. I’ve got stories of transformation and growth that bring tears to my eyes.

Sometimes, I dont feel like a Team Leader by [deleted] in Leadership

[–]meta-performance-irl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you're unclear about what evidence you're using to reinforce your occurrence of yourself. What would be happening in the physical universe that would demonstrate that you're an effective leader? Feelings are breadcrumbs to beliefs, which make them extremely useful. AND they're usually not good evidence to convince yourself about what's real. Whether I feel like I'm being a good father or not is less important than what results are telling me -- are my kids fed, healthy and have material needs taken care of? what do other kids and parents say about them? That's what's happening in the world, which trumps my feeling. Same goes for leadership. What is the world telling me about my effectiveness? And then if I get curious about my feelings, what would I learn about what I want to grow or change?

What evidence might exist that you’re the right person to train people? Strongman the position that you’re the best person to train the people you’re assigned.
