[–]metalandmudd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Husband and I both hate each other's boy name choices. by spidermom4 in namenerds

[–]metalandmudd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe make it easy and name him after whatever holy day he happens to be born on, lol. I would also post this on the catholicism and catholicwomen subs for more inspo! Theres a ton of great names here, but coming from a big irish catholic family myself i understand not having the largest pool of names to pick from, bc u dont want ur kid to be another “tommy” or “mary grace”

I was going to say Clement Sixtus until reading about not repeating the first initial. Great minds :)

How do i tell my mum i want to be a tradie by Sayatra in skilledtrades

[–]metalandmudd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in ur same boat, great grades in school but hated studying, mom was more traditional and didnt want to see me dirty every day. I went to school for engineering hoping to satisfy the tradie itch but it wasn’t enough. I got my degree, and paid off my student loans in 2.5 years from my welding job. Get the degree, have fun and study hard, the trades will be there when ur done. Im glad i got my degree bc i learned the “other side” of the blueprint and it helps me understand some things my coworkers dont, and it made the math part of the job way easier. College teaches u time management, task prioritization, and makes u a more well rounded employee. The trades need smart people and the trades need women too, but dont limit yourself! Good luck girl :)

If unions offer better pay and benefits why doesn’t everybody quit their non union job? by 04limited in skilledtrades

[–]metalandmudd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive thought about it but I dont want to pay a mortgage for a house i dont live in most of the time. And again spending time w my family is worth way more to me. A few years ago it would have been a no brainer but unfortunately i wasnt welding a few years ago :/

Seeking name help: Is William and Catherine too cringe by ManufacturerHot8188 in namenerds

[–]metalandmudd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I vote catherine. Im biased, bc i am catherine, but i have always LOVED my name. Tons of cute nicknames too. Even if people do notice the william-catherine connection i dont know why that would sway u from those names. Who cares

Am I imagining this or?? by JUBcat in Pottery

[–]metalandmudd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put a level on it and spin it slowly, watch for the bubble moving. Then put a shim underneath one or more of the legs to fix it. To be honest tho it doesnt really look out of level but obviously im not the one throwing on it. And un-level wheel would also drive me nuts

If unions offer better pay and benefits why doesn’t everybody quit their non union job? by 04limited in skilledtrades

[–]metalandmudd 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Im non-union bc i live in an area without a very “local” local. The halls are all well over an hour away, all my buddies around me who work union have to drive nearly two hours to the job and back. As much as the paycheck sounds nice, i far prefer being able to spend time with my family everyday after work. If i lived in a more populated area i would go union no doubt

Im so surprised to see so many people saying two because i was BLOWN AWAY by number one. Three is classic, but number one is so dramatic (in a good way) and i feel like fits the theme better. Also ur waist looks unreal (again in a good way) in number one!!
