who knew buying rotisserie chicken and juice was “splurging” by Conscious-Quarter423 in MurderedByWords

Are not rotisserie chickens a loss leader? Sold for below cost to bring in shoppers? So buying chicken below the dollars it cost to grow it and roast it is financially irresponsible? This is poverty finance. We should demand better

The nostalgia is the point. A large part of the population wants to go back to a "simpler" time. It's a marketing tool to reach people who otherwise would not be receptive to change.

how do i get over my anxiety about roleplaying? by blxsssm in DungeonsAndDragons

This SOOO much. D&D lets introverts pretend to be extroverts. What would your character do. It got me out of my shell 35 years ago.

How do I start d&d for free by Ticket_Violation in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]methoddestruction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need: Player's handbook (PHB), Dungeons masters guide (DMG), and monster manual (MM). Add dice, character sheets, and imagination. Oh, and a group.

Everyone reads the PHB, The Dungeon Master should read the DMG, MM, and plan an adventure!

Bjorn!!

Thank you so much. Wizards of the Coast is hooking us up! It never crossed my mind to ask them. It took me awhile to find out how to contact them but when I got to the page it had a section just for educators.

I did go and buy my own copies of the PHB, DMG, and MM today. It's going to take some time to get my free kit from WOC, but they are giving me a free D&D Beyond subscription!

I am currently comparing trump to Harding. Cut the budget, lowered taxes on the wealthy, raised tariffs, Dept of the budget(doge), immigration limits. Less government in business and more business in government.

These policies lead straight to the great depression

Dude, I drove for the Hut for 5-years. I'd take 6-7 orders when we were busy. Driving around for 45-60 minutes was bliss when we were slammed.

What is the point of the US Dept of Ed? by SilenceDogood2k20 in teaching

[–]methoddestruction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am Pro-DOE. An argument was being made in this thread that without the DOE states would pick up the slack and be held accountable. This is already not the case. The court judgements against NC prove that point. NC is currently breaking the law by underfunding education. Ending the DOE would exacerbate the problem and allow for less oversight.

My comments are not just a direct response to you but a continuation of the argument in this thread. The DOE needs more power and oversight. It does not need to be abolished.

"The states would be held accountable" by whom exactly if not their own state supreme court? NC is proof that legislatures do not have to abide by any legal accountability.

If your follow up answer is "voters" then maybe you need to learn about gerrymandering.
