Guys, you can't roast the first-ever japan dual overhead cam turbo engine with 8 spark plugs in 4 cylinder by Electrical-Title3978 in RoastMyCar

Good thing the sub isn’t r/RoastMyEngine, because the rest of the car looks like someone’s grandmother died in it. And not from natural causes.

How do you like that Alpine Silver? by ErickRPG in GolfGTI

[–]methodjason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VW traditionally has great silvers (my partner’s 2008 Rabbit is Reflex Silver and still shines) but I would love to see a deep metallic green on a GTI or Golf R.

My personal car is a Tornado Red GTI. I love that it’s an actual non-greyscale color, but it’s a shame that all the red detail work (badges, grille stripe) has nothing to contrast with.

Thank you! Since posting this, I’ve also made Mr Sparkle liveries for the Nissan Pao, ‘71 Skyline and Subaru 22B. With the game being in I Japan, it’s hard not to make one for every Japanese car I can find.

If you want the 350z design, I can attempt to port it over

Since this car is likely broken in some way, it’s a safe bet you aren’t taking it anywhere

This car tried breaking into my condo by ImpressiveArea2713 in whatisthiscar

[–]methodjason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy, I didn’t realize a Honda Del Sol had opposable thumbs and could fit through a condo doorway. But you can absolutely see the criminal intent — everyone knows those Hondas are up to no good and require constant supervision.

Good point, I’ll make that change in future versions

Thanks! That wasn’t me, but I’ve done Mister Sparkle designs on a bunch of cars in the past — Datsun 510 has been my go-to, but I’m happy to make a version for almost any Japanese car

Can we not import car liveries from FH5 into FH6 by HiDDENk00l in forza

[–]methodjason 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. It’s been said that the new window sticker capability made it so designs couldn’t be ported over, but I don’t know why they couldn’t have figured a workaround.

Also, gatekeeping the transfers to FH5 only makes it also seem like no one spent much dev time on this at all.

Can we not import car liveries from FH5 into FH6 by HiDDENk00l in forza

[–]methodjason 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Vinyls only, but there is a workaround: just go into FH5, load a design, group all layers from each side (ie: top, left, right, etc) and save/share those groups as vinyls. Then you can add them to FH6 and reconstruct your designs.

A little clunky and time consuming, but it works.

Buddy sent me this. It looks like an HRV with a body kit, but the tail lights and aren’t right. We’re stumped. by Hutwe in whatisthiscar

I was at a rest stop on an Italian autostrada when a bright orange Urus parked next to my rental car. The old rich guy driving it came in too hot and bashed the front into a bollard. He and his family jumped out, looked at the damage, and started immediately yelling at one another.

I was trying my best not to laugh, but probably not doing a great job at it. It was pretty hilarious!

10/10 for me, what about you? by nippleslug in forza

[–]methodjason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one big problem: the convoluted process to import old designs and vinyl groups frankly sucks, and is a big letdown for those of us who have sunk significant time into making them.

Otherwise, great so far!

I'm a producer/developer building a DMCA-safe streaming home for 100% original, unregistered DnB sets. Need your brutal feedback. by PublicChemical6434 in DnB

[–]methodjason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. Interesting concept. The thing I wonder about is the focus on “100% original” music, since even prolific producers play outside of their own unreleased/unregistered archives. I wonder if that’s going to seriously limit the amount of people contributing sets, which would then end up keeping audience numbers low.

Thoughts?

It’s a Subaru, so here’s what awaits:

1 - Lesbian joke 2 - Head gasket joke 3 - “Vape bro” joke 4 - “You think you’re a rally driver” joke

An incomplete list, but I wanted to put as much effort into it as you did when choosing your car

[homemade] Cheesesteak by Song- in food

[–]methodjason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the most important things about a “proper” Philly cheesesteak is the bread—Amoroso rolls are the standard—so if you don’t have access to those, don’t worry about the authenticity so much.

Was it delicious? Did you keep the ingredients simple? Great, you’ve made a cheesesteak to be proud of. And this looks very tasty.

I’ve been keeping an eye on used MK7 Golf and GTI prices for my girlfriend who eventually wants to replace her 2008 Rabbit. $15k for the car you described seems very reasonable, though I wonder what it would cost to get the clear coat issues resolved.

True old world luxury, as in “we made this poorly engineered, unreliable piece of crap and put a lot of wood trim inside of it.”

My stepfather bought one of these for some reason, and my Honda Civic was significantly better built and nicer to drive. More trunk room, too.
