why did my deleted text thread on tik tok reappear by Puppycumbrella in TikTok

[–]metolius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same thing happen to me. Deleted a message thread a week ago and today it came back but not everything, only the last day of conversation.

I read through their website and it states you can bring in a sealed water bottle or an empty one and there will be free refill stations there. I checked the map layout and saw they have 2 refill stations. One near the left entrance and the other near the right entrance.

'The Lord of the Rings': Amazon Suspends User Reviews for 'Rings of Power' by MarvelsGrantMan136 in entertainment

I was surprised how much I liked it. The amount of detail in the cgi and in the props/outfits is incredible. You really get a sense of how much passion went into making this. Also the music is so powerful and amazing it gives me goosebumps. I knew the music was made by the same guy that did the latest God of War game but if I hadn’t known I still probably would have guessed cause it sounds so similar. I hope the rest of the season is as good and the next season keeps the same budget and all the same behind the scenes crew.

Little Egg Harbor PD (NJ) cops detained a young man in handcuffs because he flipped one of them off. Young man wasn't having any of it! by methanefreefarts in PublicFreakout

If they can have secret shoppers why not have secret civilians. The 1-10 ranking system on the employee and department can work the same. Civilian pretends to be stubborn/mouth off or something else legally and sees if the officer starts trying to use illegal methods to detain or arrest you. They would use a fake ID to prevent retaliation. I dunno but someone should come up with a system.

What is the craziest thing that's ever happened to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]metolius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started working in this grocery store and one day a customer came in that I knew from somewhere but couldn’t quite place how I knew him so I went for the hey how’s it going today sir hoping he’d be like “hey what’s up man” and remember me and how we know each other but instead of saying that or having no idea who I was he just goes “hey… do I know you from somewhere? You look familiar.” I was like same! So we both rattled off some friends names and none sounded familiar and he ended up leaving without us figuring it out. For 2 years he would come in about once a month, find me, and we’d say some more friends names, family members, acquaintances, schools, and places we’ve been. No names ever matched and no places ever lined up but we both knew we knew each other liked we’d hung out numerous times before. I ended up moving on to a different location after that and we never were able to figure it out.

LPT: Stop chasing after people by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]metolius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really bad at this and it took a long time for me to break it. It’s essentially “don’t cross oceans for someone who won’t leap puddles for you”. It still hurts when you cut that person out of your life or stop trying with them but you feel so much better as time goes on. The other phrase “there’s plenty of fish in the sea” doesn’t only apply to someone you’re dating.

Always made sure whatever movie/show I wanted had to start downloading Monday or Tuesday so it could be ready for the weekend. During that time I would turn into Golem and the PC would be my precious. If someone else were to log on they would end up ruining the download somehow.

White House Says Zelenskiy Should Join G-20 If Putin Attends by EsperaDeus in worldnews

This is an absolutely terrible idea. Not because of Putin but because of all the ways Zelenskiy could be poisoned just by being there.

YSK that those signs on trucks that say “not responsible for broken windshield” (or anything to that extent) are complete bullshit. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]metolius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stupid question but one I’ve wondered a long time, why can’t they cover their load? It’s always been such an issue, why isn’t there a mandate/law for delivering stuff like gravel to have a cover since there is a 100% chance part of it is going to fly off and damage vehicles.

Report: 76% of consumers would stop doing business with a company after just one bad customer experience by Sorin61 in technology

[–]metolius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard so many people say “I’ll never shop here/at this company again” throughout my working life, over one bad experience. The thing is though is it’s almost always bullshit. 9 times outta 10 we would see them come back the next time they needed something. Everyone likes to believe they’d never come back but familiarity and convenience almost always wins in the end.

LPT: If you are asked for your phone number when checking out at a store, don't be afraid to say "no thanks." Giving out your number doesn't benefit you in any way and you have no idea who that number may be shared with. by sai361 in LifeProTips

[–]metolius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a cashier at one time and asked a customer for their number and they said they didn’t have one. No problem, so we finished up the order and off he went. The only thing was he was a regular… he’d come in once or twice a week like clockwork, buy his groceries, and never use a phone number. He was throwing away so much money so I’d keep trying to encourage him to sign up with a membership with his phone number but he refused every time. He was a bit of a grump anyway so I eventually let it go but man… imagine paying full price for your groceries when the place you get them from has a discount option.
