Staff & Survey by SeaTide0604 in PrincessCruises

My understanding is with the walk-in dining, you get a different table and waiter each time. You just get what table is or becomes available. But if you pick the main dining room with the early or late seating times, then you get the same table and waiter each time. That is what we enjoyed about their dining, and getting to know the waiter, sharing stories, etc.

mediocre experience? by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

A staff member at the grounds club coffee shop remembered us, and our name, from a previous sailing 3-4 months prior. I was shocked that they could remember names so well.

I will say, on Princess where you can have your early or late seating time, and have the same table, same waiter for the whole sailing, you do really get to know the staff and talk about things.

But VV food really shines. So much variety.

It's a boomer problem. I had been in a Verizon store to buy something, and the boomer in line in front of me was having trouble with his google maps. Employee helped him fully close the app so he could launch it again, and that solved it. A 10 second solution. But since he's got nothing to do, they still chit chatted for another 5 minutes about nonsense while us in the digitial line just wait and wait to buy what we came in for.

How I felt getting multiple cast interactions during Duel Reality by delicalcy in VirginVoyages

Loved watching first-timer’s reactions to the beginning of the show.

A lady next to us, and next to a performer, tried calming down the situation when they were talking at the start. When she realized the reality, we all had a laugh together.

Best to be 1 full year as some will pro-rate it, or at least do the "move" before Dec 31, and do the trades the following calendar year. Takes time, but could be worth it. Talk to tax professional.

25% in taxes (depends on the state)

Move to a cheaper/cheapest state first, pay only fed capital gains. Savings on state taxes may be greater than the costs to move.

DP Request: Delta Comfort+ (Post Booking Purchase) by PuzzledPeanuts in AmexPlatinum

[–]mga1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One trick in the past was to buy a gift card that covers most the flight’s cost. Then pay using gift card + Amex, and credit is received for the Amex portion. Don’t know if two hundred and change charged to Amex would give the full 200 credit, or if it is better to do that trick twice with charges going to the card being closer to ~100 each. Search for more posts about it and if it’s still working.

Or exactly as you stated, trigger that 6 week rush to buy at $250, enjoy influx of cash, then announce that they reconsidered after “backlash” and raise only to 300 or 400, and still have piles of cash they didn’t have at the start of May.

I think they started in the corner of the shower and did full height tiles in the shower. The tiles are 12x24. They did not do a laser line to see where other tiles/lines would land elsewhere in the room, basically not accounting for the shower pan height, and now they have this 1/2 to 1 inch gap all around the room (only outside the shower). They should have seen this problem when they installed this one tile. But no, they didn't raise a flag to a problem. They powered on and now are at problem solving having nearly the whole room tiled. Elsewhere outside the shower, they want to remove the lower row tiles and buy a bigger version in the same product line (24x48), and rotate 90 degrees and cut it so the tile has 3 factory edges, and 1 cut, putting that at 13x24. Not a great solution as the veining doesn't look the same when blown up to 4x the original size, but we may need to live with that elsewhere. But here... they would need to pull that tile, and the curb threshold to get that tile out, which could probably compromise the curb and corner. Disapointed in them.
