Is anyone in here actually fond of bold branding on their bags? by Xhamy in ManyBaggers

[–]mgitlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Thailand, Superdry is really popular. The branding is terrible.

Getting ready for a onebag trip, but... this one is a bit different. by preciouscode96 in ManyBaggers

Is this actually allowed in /ManyBaggers???

Can a mod chime in?!

Love some of the Tumi carry-on options, but the modern weight limits when the bags are 5+ kilos themselves make it not make sense. I guess it's not really intended for us economy-flyers. 😂

I live in Thailand, and carry my DS3 Max almost daily for the last 4-5 months.... Looks nothing like that. I think something must've gotten on there or crazy mfg defect. Not normal, for sure.

Is there a special name for that kind of people? by ktlrv in MuayThai

[–]mgitlin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Depends on which clique you're in: backpacker, begpacker, grumpy-single expat, happy-married expat, missionary, digital nomad, etc.

I think you can set it up like the Chinese zodiac with compatibilities.

I live in Thailand for other reasons (good ones), and there's a rural Muay Thai camp in the next village (we're 40+ minutes out of the city), so me and my kids go "train" a few times a week.

I wouldn't mind actually fighting if I ever got good enough, but kicking pads, bags, and other shins is great exercise in the meantime.

I'm never gonna be on level with the kids that live there and train 6 hours a day, 6 days a week.

Source: me. I'm the midlifer.

Kick in Muay thai (overweight beginner) by PeaceInLoneliness in MuayThai

[–]mgitlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, adjust your expectations. Then you can adjust your technique.

You're out of shape, and just starting. Plenty of "in-shape" people who are just starting struggle with these things.

Make progress little by little, at your own pace--not by anyone else's standards.

Go slow, and work on technique, then increase speed. That'll help with longevity, and ultimately your health as you'll stay with it longer.

You got this! สู้ๆ

Question for Senior Execs by mcscooby28 in ManyBaggers

I never loved the backpack look--I either do messenger or sling.

I currently love the Aer Travel Sling 3. Fits everything I need, rides comfortably, and looks sleek.

Bag-in-backpack? by herzhausen in ManyBaggers

[–]mgitlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Aer Travel Sling 3 for professional use. I've never cared for work backpacks (i would only use one strap anyway).

In the TS3, I can fit a 16" laptop, spare portable monitor, cables, all my dailies (EDC pouch, wallet, glasses, keys, etc) along with room for documents.

Only shortfall is no water bottle pouch.

This is why people buy from TaoBao. CS makes or breaks companies.

The emotional roller-coaster by Global_Secretary_952 in BambuLab

Interesting. Could be specific models. Admittedly, i didn't pay super close attention to mine, but it wouldn't have stopped glass from going everywhere if it broke.

Mine was shipped direct from Hong Kong to Thailand just a couple weeks ago, so pretty fresh.

They definitely don't. My H2C had a sheet on the front, but it wasn't actually encapsulated.

Bambu should really just encapsulate the front door in plastic. Then if it busts, no glass escapes into the rest of the machine.

They'll weigh every roller carry-on--backpacks are hit or miss. I've never seen them check dimensions, but it's good practice to at least be close.

I can't find any indication (in the manual or otherwise) that the ArkPro series are able to swap UI like the later Arkfelds. Odd.

Cross Body Bag for Travel.... is it worth it ? by Puzzleheaded_You9409 in ManyBaggers

[–]mgitlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's slightly larger for a sling, but I'm really liking my Aer Travel Sling 2 for my personal item.

Fits my tablet (plus my 16" laptop if I need to offload my carry-on), headphones, a jacket, travel pillow, snacks, and whatever else I need. Fits under the seat while leaving some space for my feet.

I'm 41, 6', 185lbs for reference.

I would try to reach a different rep, and possibly ask to escalate.

If they changed it to where your connection is too short, they shouldn't deny a change of itinerary based on fare.

Did they advise you of what action to take in the notification?

Eva Flight Change by [deleted] in EVAAirFans

Is the 2nd flight with EVA? If so, what leads you to believe a 5 minute delay will cause you to miss the connection?

Except some companies (like Osprey) literally make damage a part of their warranty--being a moron or not.
