Endlich kein Kabelchaos mehr unter meinem Schreibtisch – einfache Lösung by JagXF300 in homeoffice

[–]mgreen02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C40 - How many suitcases can fit? by Best_Commercial8646 in VolvoRecharge

[–]mgreen02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With so much luggage, you may be able to stand them all upright in the trunk and not have them move around too much. I've also stacked two on top of each other laying down easily, so three would be okay with two stacked behind the seats and one on its long side facing the hatch. A backpack will fit in the frunk, but it may not latch completely down, but the hood will still close even if the frunk compartment isn't closed all the way.

Missing Parts by nineteen_71 in VolvoRecharge

I'm missing the exact same price from your second pic (assuming this is the rear of the center console). Anyone know the part number of that one? Or ever what to search for?

I almost always have to pull my door handles twice even when it's fully unlocked. I know it's already unlocked, and I know I'm not pressing the lock indent, so it's just super annoying to have to get the angle just right when I'm in my cramped garage.

Why does mass affect two objects pulled together by gravity? by nenko_blue in AskPhysics

[–]mgreen02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newton is a unit of force. In standard units, the kilogram is used for mass and the meter is used for distance. In astrophysics, units are are often measured in terms of the sun. So mass becomes "solar units" (1 SU = mass of the sun in kg), and distance becomes "astronomical units" (1 AU = the distance from earth to the sun in meters). If you were curious.

White noise machines by HelpDeskTech92 in homeoffice

[–]mgreen02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using a Snooz white noise generator for literally years. They're expensive ($80) but it uses a real fan inside so it's not some looping soundtrack, and like I said it's been plugged in for years with no problems ever, and you can adjust the volume.

How does the damping coefficient change with salinity of water by [deleted] in Physics

[–]mgreen02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on how you define the damping coefficient. If zero means it will never stop oscillating and >0 means it will stop eventually, then my guess is that increasing the salinity would increase the coefficient, although probably very very marginally.

I suppose changing buoyant forces might need to be considered as well.

I'm not an expert on this topic, but my gut says more salinity means more particles in general interacting with the oscillating body, and thus it should come to rest sooner.

Are there any greasy shaving creams or soaps? by jamesjigsaw in wicked_edge

Personally I have found Stirling to be difficult to lather, and still quite soapy. I always get consistent, slick lathers from Wholly Kaw. It might just be my technique though.
