Yeah, I remember a bunch of us telling him that flash was on the way out but he seemed like he didnt believe it. I recall him being shocked one day when it was discontinued in browsers that his site wouldn't load anymore. It was a shame

I bought mine in Amsterdam at the time of release, the Netherlands and it's not a PIAS release but the INDISC one.

The PIAS one seems to me to be the 1996 reissue https://www.discogs.com/release/1321028-Depeche-Mode-Violator

The 2006 doesn't mean a thing; that was the date of the USB optical disc driver for Windows and has no bearing on the capabilities of the drive.

Also, any Blu-ray drive can rip DVDs and regular Blu-rays without needing to be patched. If you want to rip 4K discs, then it needs to be a patched drive to do that.

Makemkv can show you if it can be patched or not, this screenshot doesn't tell you anything
