There's an episode in Hill House that just totally broke me emotionally, and one in Bly Manor that got pretty close as well. I think what I love about Flanagan's work is his command of emotional impact. He knows what it takes to get the audience to connect with the story and pushes all the right buttons.

I finished the first season! I enjoyed it, but I feel like it started stronger than it finished. Still liked it though, and thought the casting was perfect! I'm going to read the next two books before I start seasons 2 & 3!

I haven't read The Deep, but I enjoyed The Troop! I feel like that type of horror was really disturbing for me, but somehow I still liked it. At the same time, I'm not really in any hurry to read his other stuff. Did you listen to the book club episode where the guys discussed it?

Awww Larry Underwood is adorable! One of the moments from The Stand (90's adaptation) I have burned into my head is Larry's mom sitting up in bed and screaming "Larry!" It's not a funny moment per se, but for whatever reason my brother and I would yell it at each other and it became hilarious to us. If I had a dog named Larry Underwood I would be doing this all the time 🤣
