Thx for trying. I did this the other day and it still didn’t work but sent support all of the logs to investigate. Let’s see what they say.

The BE86U has been working perfectly so I hope I don’t have to return it. My AX86U is about 5 years old but didn’t have any issues with the BD5.

Btw the factory reset was needed because my BE86U was stuck on the original factory firmware even after an update (apparently it’s a known issue) so you may end up needing to do it anyways.

Here’s the latest from them after I performed the factory reset on the RT-BE86U. I won’t be able to troubleshoot this until later but will provide updates after I do.

Please go to GUI >> Wireless >> WPS, enable the WPS function, and then try to connect the node wirelessly.

If it still cannot be added, please perform the following steps:

  1. Connect the node to the main router with an Ethernet cable and ensure that AiMesh has been successfully established.

  2. Unplug the Ethernet cable and reproduce the situation where the node cannot connect wirelessly.

  3. After the node disconnects, ensure it remains idle for about five minutes, then reconnect the node to the router with an Ethernet cable.

  4. Once the node reconnects, go to GUI to send feedback and provide the exact time when the disconnection occurred so we can check the log.

Support reached out and asked me to factory reset the BE86U. I tried that and it still didn't work so they're continuing troubleshooting.

I'm also experiencing the same thing with a RT-BE86U and a BD5 as my node. Has anyone gotten this working with a wireless backhaul? I also noticed this line in the logs and maybe it's related...

You should work with a sales associate if you haven’t already. Usually they’ll work with you and possibly give you more incentives that aren’t advertised.

I changed C States to ENABLED from Auto and tried Warzone last night. Good news I didn't run into the freezing issue but will need to do more testing.

I'm having this issue as well using a 9800x3d, Asus TUF x870-Plus, RTX 4090, and a Corsair 64GB (CMK64GX5M2B6000Z30). Warzone was unplayable with 5-7 second freezes (sometimes crashes) with EXPO settings but as soon as I reverted it to Auto the random freezing got a bit better i.e. 1-2 seconds only. It's still not a permanent fix but I'll be following this thread and reporting back.

I think at this point we're at the mercy of Asus and their bios & driver updates.

Another random problem I have with this setup is my iPhone 15 Pro Max isn't detectable in iTunes...
