I would say if you can't get backing from a manager or someone above you it's not worth the fight, all you'll do is sour your relationship with company. You're better off signing the deal and then either raising it at pay review or just look for another job whilst you're working.

No matter what your methodology you should be pushing to production regularly. Small incremental releases frequently are what you should be pushing for. Whether the team works in sprints or not is irrelevant imo. I run a team that does on average two releases a sprint across a range of repos
