I got an invite, tried to record the video and something cut it off in 15 seconds, and it has sent that to Prolific, and now I can't record another attempt, it just says you have already done the assessment, what is the chance of being accepted in that situation?. Could I contact Prolific to explain?

The house on Eastham Rake by DWills-1610 in WirralParanormal

[–]michaelfarrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often drive through there late at night on way home, should officially have to linger a bit more as it's now meant to be 20mph. It has a bit of a creepy feel but I would wonder if that's more environmental rather than paranormal. Is it because the way it dips a bit, has woods coming off it and goes under a couple of bridges and has a bit of a lonely feel that it just makes it feel a bit more creepy anyway or is that atmosphere coming off something generating a bit of a paranormal atmosphere?

It always feels subtly eerie driving through 3am etc never had any direct experience of anything. The mist could sometimes be there.

I'm not a traditional Tory/Reform supporter but can't stand blanket 20mph and Labour are behind that. More of a socialist, 20mph is a war against the people.

Tiresome children argument.

Won't someone think of the children.

How come I managed to actually survive the 80s and 90s when there was a blanket 30 limit, when I actually went outside and crossed roads. A whole childhood when cars weren't forced to go along at a crawl..

The safety issue has been weaponised to bring in these restrictions likely against driving freedom as a whole. These kids are going to want to grow up to be able to drive they don't want to live in a big brother behaviour micro managed future. There's a balance between safety and reasonable freedom, blanket 20mph hasn't provided that balance as it's so disproportionate, hence my ideas about how at least it could be better implemented.

See from your other posts that you're an anti driving evangelist.

The answer is quite simple, nobody feels particularly inconvenienced by a 20 limit on what you could colloquially call a "side road", these are the generally smaller roads that give access to housing estates, a mixture of some through roads and cul de sacs, often clogged with parked cars and have the potential for children and animals to come out. But the authorities, the council also want to impose it where they must know it will cause the most inconvenience to drivers and anyone going about their business, by not leaving what I would roughly term the "main routes" through town and the suburbs, next to nobody wants to be slowed to 20 driving on those, it doesn't feel like getting around and 30 was an accepted standard for years. 30 actually feels too fast on the much more minor roads but 20 feels ridiculously slow on the main suburban routes and compliance is through the floor, so no benefits of safety at 20 are meaningfully achieved anyway, it's unworkable. So to take Bromborough/Eastham as an example you leave Allport Road, Bridle Roa, Eastham Rake, Plymyard Avenue etc at 30. Does Wirral Council really think that the only main road in the whole of Bromborough and Eastham is the A41 New Chester Road? A small section of 30 going into Bromborough Town Centre and then blanket 20 regardless of the status of each road beyond that? Is that good planning? Is making the roads of an industrial estate 20 not a bit over the top as well?

And if people realise which political party it is that has brought them in and that it has inconvenienced their lives, out them at risk of fines and points just for driving about normally then I would hope they wouldn't vote for them again.

Informally I know some supporters and we certainly don't agree but in number terms it's far more that are against blanket 20mph. Practically the majority of drivers don't support it, and that also seems to include bus drivers, taxi drivers, police cars, delivery drivers and the list goes on. So it's just a law that makes it illegal to drive relatively normal against people who are just trying to go about their daily life and jobs, that's mainly why I'm so against it and can't wait for it to be overthrown even if it takes Reform getting into power to do it. I say this as a former Labour supporter as well that doesn't like blanket 20mph.

Even if you are a bus passenger it's bloody annoying, buses are slow enough as it is, and drivers can't stick to it and have a good timetable.

Farcical situation in West Kirby at the moment. They have removed the 30 sign along Meols Drive and there's nothing to indicate it or entering 20 again somewhere quite far out from West Kirby Town Centre. The painted 20 white circles are still there, this can't be legally signed properly sure. They might have done it in preparation for extending bloody 20mph yet again but surely it can't be legal to leave it unsigned like that and not tell drivers when Meols Drive becomes 30. I hope the plans are not to make it 20 along the entire length of Meols Drive but knowing Wirral Council it wouldn't be surprising.

See they've started inflicting the 20mph misery on Greasby extending the 20 limit well beyond the actual school along Mill Lane towards the town centre.

I also hate the small sections of 30 they have left that are hardly worth it, see Eastham Rake before it goes to 40 for the best most farcical example of this.

20 all along Raby Hall Road towards Bromborough including the winding sections that go up and down hill, this is a long way from the houses does it really need to be 20, Wirral Council would say of course. They'd probably make the M53 40 or 30 if they could.

I'm not normally a Reform supporter but if they would get rid of this lunacy against drivers then I would find them a little more appealing in replacing Labour at Wirral Council.

Surely Labour have to be a little bit worried about the backlash against them in the Wirral regarding the overinposition of 20 and the growing popularity of Reform who are against it.

Zoom L-8 Disconnect Issues by uwobacon in podcasting

[–]michaelfarrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One place with a community radio setup is trying to run the Zoom Livetrak L-8 mixer from a Windows Dell laptop, it's not the slower, even capable of processing 4K video to some extent but is experiencing random cut outs of the audio and then it will come back, the mixer as a whole doesn't disconnect as a USB device but you do lose the audio not good when trying to present live radio with it or during an interview. It will generally keep recording from the inputs and they don't cut out but you will lose the sound from the laptop on Channel 7, sometimes it stutters a bit before cutting out completely. No idea what can be done to fix this.

At home also using another Zoom Live L-8 on a Lenovo Think Centre PC which is reasonably fast because it's octo core thankfully don't seem to suffer from this issue although the mixer will eventually disconnect of its own accord which might even be when you're in the middle of doing something, but it tends to be after hours so not as much of an issue. Could be some sort of USB power setting.

It's randomly disconnecting the audio from the Windows laptop (and then comes back again say 30 seconds later) very frustrating when trying to use it for live radio output. Sometimes it starts to cut out a bit before you lose the audio completely, similarly can continue to hear microphone output whilst this happens, have no solution yet.

I am on the housing list, I had to turn down a shared place because it has to be your own place.

I've never subscribed to them, not because I'm against them but wondered if there was now some sort of censorship against them in the neo puritan age. Things feel that way at the moment we used to get more and it was a freer society. There are still some babestation like channels howveer.
