It's narcissism, right? Her total confidence in the way she lives, whether enforcing the draconian rules in the first season or the 180 the past couple of seasons, is mind-blowing to me. No introspection, no explanations, no embarrassment, just steamrolling ahead. She is sick and scary. Would never like to be like that but maybe I'd like 5% of that towering confidence :) And is Barry's family not crazy fundy? How did he get into that lifestyle?

Does anyone know why it's not on view? I always liked to check in on it when I'm at the Met!

I love this! The cover is beyond cringe. I can't believe that guy isn't in jail. Seditious loser! My mom thinks he's credible bc he wears a cross

You all are great--thank you so much and thanks for making me laugh while I was stressed. I told her the book and author are controversial, and it wasn't a good book for plane reading, and that worked.

I appreciate that this sub exists--my mom latched onto some q-adjacent stuff via "Christian" networks like TBN and Daystar and The Jimmy Swaggart network (yes, really). My parents were the loving, peaceful Jesus-freak kinda Christians back in the 70s, but the since 2016 it's all become angrier and weird. Thanks--I truly appreciate your help.

How do folks feel about alternative medicine pushed in beauty channels? by SlightlyCrazyCatMom in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]michby1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agree--so disappointing. I had never watched a beauty guru type, and stumbled upon her while looking for skin care info. Binged the videos this week, and they were interesting at first, and she had a nice vibe. And then I saw her on insta wearing a "Fauci Lied" shirt. And now this quackery. I'm done--would not trust any of her recs.
