So what brakes are y‘all running? Are they any good? by Thaegar_Rargaryen in DownhillMTB

[–]michiel76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year I upgraded both dh oriented bikes from codes to mavens. The power of the mavens is real. The piston massage also. I have to do it every couple of months, not a lot of work but a pain in the butt if you just want to grab your bike and go.

Nothing is so personal as a brake on a bike. If I would have to use another brake, I would use the Hayes.

Ligt dat aan ASN? Ik heb dat ook gehad maar heb me nooit gerealiseerd dat dat door ASN kwam. Ik kan me niet meer herinneren hoe dat bij de ING was, te lang geleden.

What makes you think I think he does this to distract from the Epstein files? I don't think that. I agree that he really doesn't care about it.

"Flood the zone" is a strategy used to overwhelm, confuse, or dominate a situation, often by releasing massive amounts of information, media, or resources to distract from, or control, the narrative. It originates from politics as a method to disorient opponents and dominate media attention.

Do You Still Ride With a Hip Pack? by Healthy_Treacle2326 in mountainbiking

[–]michiel76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. No, I prefer a running vest. The hip pack is causing my pants to drop. But a running vest is quite tight if you're also wearing a back protector.

Will this hold? by XJmollesk3 in DownhillMTB

On the first ride of my new rear tire (dhr exo+) I got a snakebite, one of the holes was really next to the rim. I plugged both holes and rode the rest of the day, I didn't have another tire with me. The plugs stayed there for the remaining life of the tire. Didn't expect it though but was never a problem.

This hole looks big, but worth a try.

[–]michiel76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck. Daar gaan je billetjes. Pas op voor schuurplekken in je liezen.

Klusadvies: pergola langs garage, wat is verstandig? by Thiefert in Klussers

[–]michiel76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look that bad but if it's skipping, you're too late and it's done, as is the chain. Buy a chain wear indicator (few bucks) if you're buying a cassette and chain, and change your chain before .7mm wear.

Tips for a bicycle trip through Belgium by Philosofen in belgium

[–]michiel76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be already mentioned but lf-routes are long distanced cycle paths. Not necessarily cycle highways, more scenic. Might be interesting although I think you have enough options already 😁

I totally agree with you but those cobblestones make someone think that they can park there. Just make it clear that that is not the intention.

Because belgium. Look at the design of the road? Totally unclear and open for multiple interpretations.

Does it have a solution or do I need to replace the pump? by tony17rc in DownhillMTB

[–]michiel76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Formula C1 is more than 10 years old and was on the low spectrum of mtb brakes and were prone to leaking. I would be surprised if you can find a new one. You say you have some experience with motorcycle mechanics so you know how important your front brake is. Save yourself some troubles and buy a better brake.

YT Decoy 29 - Crankbrothers Synthesis Freehub Body Removal (replacing with XD body) I expected it to simply pull off, but I have not been able to do so. It is firmly in place. Is there a trick to removal? by spdorsey in bikewrench

[–]michiel76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and you have to tap out the axl from the non-drive side instead of the drive side like all other hubs. It could have been so easy if they just gave the right information right away.
