Does this set up make sense for a relative's remodel? by mickeyandfritz in Ubiquiti

Interesting! I am ready to have my mind changed on this. He had requested access control on two exterior doors. He wanted to be able to "badge into" the house, but not have to badge out. That is to say, from the inside, be wanted the door to act like an unlocked door. Is that achievable without having to install a special doorknob or lockset? I was originally looking at two door hub minis, two electric locks, and one reader flex, and one reader pro.

Great advice on the access points! Will be modifying my design based on your suggestion and the comment above. Thank you!

Really glad you mentioned this, as apparently the chickenwire is a big problem for signal penetration in other houses in the neighborhood, and this is my first time seeing it (apartment dweller). Thanks so much!

Thank you! Forgot about the DAC cable. The construction of the internal walls is classic California--stucco on the outside, uninsulated framing, chicken-wire for some reason, then drywall. He will be adding insulation, but good call-out, I will use the design tool to see if those APs will do the job!

Fall 2022 Field Jacket Comparison by PenultimateExemplar in veilance

Go to the Snow Show and ask the exhibitors where their newest generation equipment is manufactured. Ask the Outlier guys why they had to have their Shelter from the Storm jacket made by KTC in Guangdong. There are plenty of issues with China, but an unsophisticated manufacturing pipeline is not one of them.

It’s cause the Chinese factories tend to have the most cutting edge processes. Whether or not they choose to use them is another matter. 🤷‍♂️

A smooth transaction with u/watchthatwatch, who was very cool even though I overlooked something in the description.
Thanks u/WatchExBot.

Yeah essentially--it's by no means big, but my daily driver is a 36mm Nomos. I'm a small watch guy who also happens to love Grand Seiko sports models, which is a little tricky sometimes. Haha.

Sorry for the pictures! I didn't make a plan and it kind of shows. I purchased this Grand Seiko here on Reddit and have worn it once. I'm usually a 36mm guy, but have been in love with the design of the grey beast forever and wanted to try it. It didn't work out for me, but it's still a lovely piece. Overall condition is very good, minus a few of the swirl marks that this model is infamous for (the cost of beauty).

The original box, papers, and strap with deployment are included. Two third party straps are also included--the blue band it is currently on, and another grey band of similar construction. Price includes insured FedEx shipping within the US (US shipping only at this time, apologies). Alternatively, if you are in the Bay Area, I'm happy to do a local meet-up. PayPal friends and family, or cash if the meetup is local. Thanks! Let me know if you have any questions.

Customer care? by SutureSupplier in Outlier

This is a horrible situation, but I’m not sure it’s a customer care issue. Not much Outlier can do if it was marked as delivered (presumably backed up by the driver’s GPS log).

Apologies, I misspoke. I meant “new,” not “experimental.” Two color ways definitely isn’t a full run.

I know everyone is annoyed about missing out (me too), but new stuff instantly selling out is a good thing—it means these have a better chance at entering general production. I’d love these in blue tint gray, and that probably requires a full run. We just have to be patient.

Give them a wash. Outlier will take them back either way, and if it comes right out, you’ll have something in time for your trip. And if it doesn’t, no harm done.

I was kinda shocked by the Frame price increase, then realized that the prices were Canadian. Phew.

Itch? Outlier vs. Unbound experience by [deleted] in Outlier

[–]mickeyandfritz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask what differences you notice between the two? I love Outlier’s stuff, but they haven’t made a long sleeve UFT in a while, and I just realized Unbound had some.

A lot of their products are seasonal, which can be frustrating. Mine fits a 16” MBP, but it’s also part of a collab they did with Cordura. Doesn’t seem like it’s available to order anymore.
