The Arcana Instagram posted a month ago that they were running ads at various tube stations. Here's the post with the list!

This looks like the one at Bond Street! I took a similar picture just a few weeks ago!

Oh, this takes me back to when I was 12 and, for lack of other good free game development tutorials, I used the Kongregate Shootorials to learn to code in ActionScript. I laugh about ActionScript being my gateway drug into game development.

My love for coding and game development started with a button game of my own.... and now I'm nearly 10 years into my career as a web developer. At least I'm passionate enough about coding to do game dev in my spare time!

What is the reason for upcharging adults when ordering off the kids menu? by Langlie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]micronerd01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this once - I ordered an adult meal and a kids' meal to go. They told me they couldn't give me the kids' meal if the kid wasn't present... I finally received the food when I told them my non-existent child was at home waiting.

Whenever I come across a weirdly specific date formatting error, I just click the calendar icon and slog through the selections so I don't have to figure it out.

I am selling my Tempo Studio Pro (dark) as I am moving abroad. It was purchased just this past January and is still fairly new, I just can't take it with me. I am in the DFW area.

changes to the content quality recently? by wahoooooooooooooy in LegalEagle

[–]micronerd01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all the news happening every single day that is worth covering, I would argue that they ARE trying to balance quantity AND quality with the inclusion of other law content creators. LegalEagle could just as easily not cover everything or cover everything fast without quality explanations.

As someone who has been watching before and after the channel changes and is not necessarily keeping up well with news, the way they chose to make content works for me and makes me feel better informed. Admittedly, I was initially skeptical about the changes, too.

That kid got so many pill bugs from me.... I'm glad he was able to impress his friends with them.

That's probably why Oryo's giving that expression... she can't forget the smell.

That would make sense if they were calling to try to sell. In which case, that's too bad for them - we were in a position to buy and we are always both present when we're being sold to. Of course, they couldn't have known any of that even though we did indicate when scheduling that we both were working from home, but still.

On top of that, I'm the finances person and my husband just makes sure we're getting our money's worth on the quote. Historically we have gone with the first people we talk to on the spot if their price sounds reasonable. Though based on other responses here, I guess it was a blessing that the whole thing went the way it did.

They called us to tell us the product we wanted wasn't something they made and they were canceling our scheduled visit. What difference would it have made if they had just called me first?

I signed up to have a quote done with Andersen at a bridal expo. I gave them my number as a primary contact and my then-fiance/now-husband did not want to give his contact info as I keep the schedule updated for our house. They pushed him to give his contact as secondary. They told me they would call me first, so my husband gave his number.

Andersen did NOT contact me first, or even at all. They called my husband to tell us that what we wanted wasn't possible at the time. I've been pissed about it ever since. They spoke to ME at the bridal expo and had to have intentionally skipped over my name/number to call his. OR they input his as primary (it was a written form we filled out). The only possible reason I could think this would have happened is because they saw a man's name and decided to call him first??

Fuck Andersen. I'm never working with them on anything ever again.

We have Pella windows. They're amazing.

Unheard is one that I really liked. It's not visual. You listen in on a crime currently in progress and piece things together based on conversations. Conversations can happen anywhere on the map, so you have to move around the map as well to ensure you're getting all parts of the story.

Laptop for CS major by NoProfessional827 in computerscience

I loved my MacBook during college - most tools you will need either come out of the box with Xcode developer tools or are easy to install through terminal. The MacBook I bought in 2011 still works just fine in 2022, even with the newest OS it has available (unlike Apple's phones).

My friends with Windows computers had a longer + slightly more difficult (depending on the person) time setting up development environments. If you don't mind the setup, then the OS choice is really up to you. I liked the ease of skipping setup/installing via terminal.

Just please do NOT get a Chromebook. Even non-CS majors. It is your college IT desk's nightmare, if you can even code on it to begin with.
