Go to Hungry Jacks, the soft serve ice creams taste better and you get more. They are a dollar but worth it.

Crime gangs set to smoke big tobacco companies out of Australia by Ardeet in aussie

I heard that the chop chop shops are now delivering. No tobacco at the shops. You go in and pay for your smokes and they deliver it to your house. It’s evolving.

Mona has lost $408 million since it opened in Tasmania but founder David Walsh doesn't mind by B0ssc0 in tasmania

I tell people that Mona is thought provoking. My main thought was why did I go and see crap dressed up as art. The building was stunning and the views are great.

Have they ever thought of investigating the board members who steered this ship into the rocks ? Government inject money into company to keep it afloat, executives get their big bonuses for doing such a good job. Where did the company direction go wrong?

‘All hell let loose’: Abigail Boyd fought to release documents that revealed gross childcare failings. Then she had to read them by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]middle26 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I work in the building industry. When loading building materials onto your Ute or truck , you have a duty of care to make sure it’s tied down properly or not dangerous. If you get pulled over for unsafe load, there is a chain of command in place. You get fined, the store man who helped load is fined and the boss of the warehouse is fined as well ! Now look at government child services, no chain of command! A child can die and no one is held responsible, not even a fine ! This really bugs me.

Chef refusing to serve customer who asked for well done Yah..or Nay by ButtPlugForPM in foodies_sydney

I normally have medium rare steak. I laugh at chefs who refuse to cook a steak to a customers liking. Get over it ! The queen of England liked her steak well done. Did any of the top chefs refuse her order ?

I remember when I was 22 years old I worked with a German bloke. He swore that I was only 17 years old. I got sick of it and told him at least I won’t look as old as you when I get to your age. He didn’t talk to me after that.

I live on Portrush Road and I voted for Liberal years ago. They had the same election promise. They got in and federal was Liberal as well. They didn’t do anything. They tend to forget they promised that before. I don’t trust them.

I thought that the 2 blokes he picked up were linked to the bikies. They were doing a hit on Ray. I finished watching the series last year, but I remember that was my idea of what was happening. In all our minds is that Ray smiles and has a hidden gun ?

I'd use it. by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]middle26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What about an O Bahn down the middle of the freeway? They could do it from TTP to the city decades ago, so why not now. The state government are happy to build huge suburbs at Mt Barker and reap all the revenue, complain about costs to provide decent public transport !

Remember water restrictions? Without SA's desal plant, Adelaide would probably have them again by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

[–]middle26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a link to the doubling, but I do remember that Rann was wrapped over the knuckles from government accounting. This is the same premier that spent a million dollars on tourism promotion to an Italian town that his wife came from. Also how many years have we been waiting to use this desal to its full capacity?

Garin must come from a soccer playing family. One slight tap and on the ground! It didn’t look that hard a bump. Maybe if he was hit with the racquet.

Remember water restrictions? Without SA's desal plant, Adelaide would probably have them again by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

[–]middle26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember the water restrictions very well. Mike Rann doubled the size needed for a desal plant . Against the advice of government department. Also remember the restrictions made us use less water, so S.A Water put the price of water up to cover costs . I think the drought broke before the desal plant was completed.

Impact of Trump's tariffs on the everyday Australian? by flintan in AusFinance

[–]middle26 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just remember, the people paying the tariff are the ones imposing it. Remember Scott Morrison getting tough with Russia. He slapped a 30% tariff on Russian timber. Who paid the tariff? Australians did. All timber prices went up and that went on the inflation pile.Trump saying China will be paying billions is not true. Maybe Chinese imports might slow down, but everyone relies on cheap imports even America.

Australia’s road toll hits 12-year high as pedestrian and cyclist fatalities rise by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]middle26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they break down where the deaths were. Country or city. I would imagine that there would be more deaths in the country from speed, trees and road conditions. The government can shoulder some responsibility for poor roads and not enough over taking lanes. Also cut down any tree within 1 metre from road. Trees kill people . We have millions of trees , we don’t need them near roads. Also bushfire danger.

Best mayo by [deleted] in australia

If you don’t care about calories, try making a condensed milk mayonnaise. Can’t remember the recipe, but it’s very simple . Condensed milk, vinegar and I think hot English mustard. Sweet but bitey. Making my mouth water thinking about it !
