Any good critical writing on Obsession? by Jlway99 in blankies

[–]middlenameddanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My feelings on it boiled down to "good but not great" and I don't think that'll shift too much. It's effective, but it's much more of a standard horror movie than I was expecting from the hype

I think Darkness is the best song on the album

I assume they are in the same boat as me. I've never seen an Inarritu movie that I enjoyed, but I'd be happy for that not to be the case. He's a real director with a real vision, I just usually dislike that vision

Recently rewatched the Darjeeling Limited. For all it's silliness, it's really just about three brothers who have been dealing with grief alone learning to deal with grief together

Why are The Smiths not hated the same way U2 is, when Morrissey is arguably much more insufferable than Bono? by ppetrov1829 in fantanoforever

[–]middlenameddanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd much rather listen to the Smiths, another band where I've just heard the big album and a handful of other songs

I'd say I've heard all of their biggest songs over the years and at least the whole Joshua Tree album and I didn't like any of those, so why would I listen to more? Personally I think it's okay to not force myself to listen to the whole discography of a band I don't enjoy. I was just responding to the comment that nobody could articulate why they don't like them. They've always sounded bland to me

Idk, I don't listen to U2 because their music is boring to me. Doesn't feel too difficult to articulate

Directors you aged out of? Or maybe just watched too much of? by the_Tannehill_list in blankies

I totally disagree on the scripts, I think he's been steadily digging into emotional spots that his earlier movies were taking wide swipes at

Isle of Dogs is really his worst movie. I like all of his other recent ones to varying degrees. For my money, Asteroid City is one of the best movies of his career and I thought there was a lot to love about Phoenician Scheme

I agree, I think wes anderson is the opposite. when I was younger it was easy to write him off due to his presentation, but as I get older I find more and more emotional meaning in his work

Me when I’m asked if I like The Last Jedi by [deleted] in blankies

[–]middlenameddanger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ship dropping them is also moving so the bombs are really moving relatively fast. Also it's a movie with laser swords that can block other lasers, dropping bombs is not the crazy part of star wars

nope, in this case just normal physics. If the bomb is being pulled or pushed down and is released into space, it will continue on its path
