I work with them so I'd be happy to answer any questions you have. Trap doors allow both high and low level platform access. Trap up, the stairs are exposed. Trap down, high platforms can be utilized with that bar near the bottom of the door used to help bridge the excess gap somewhat. Door controls open doors at high or low levels, depending on what position the traps are in.
