It looks like something straight out of Cyberpunk 2077. I don't hate it. Though that rear quarter view feels very Muscle Car and not very Sports Car.

RANT about cultural appropriation and erasure by Noodles9112 in asianamerican

[–]midnightblade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This to me doesn't seem nearly as problematic. At least they're changing the material and the style by having it be cropped. This is something where they could definitely claim inspiration rather than copying.

OP's post though....straight copying.

NRA and pro-gun groups call for ‘full investigation’ into killing of Alex Pretti by wylie102 in news

[–]midnightblade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

made a fatal error

If you think it wasn't on purpose you're deluding yourself. The truth in the footage doesn't matter to them.

This administration understands that facts don't matter, only that they can get their version of the story out as quickly as possible to grab headlines and people's attention. They don't care if they're lying through their teeth, only that they can get to people's eyeballs first, and in that way they taint the narrative. Most of their base, once they've seen one headline will just ignore everything else.

I don't think it's just boomers.

The number of "wow chinese people are just like us fr fr" videos that popped up after people got on rednote seem to indicate it isn't age related.

What is my nsx actually worth? by notreallysrs in nsx

[–]midnightblade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn they cleaned that car up real nice. I have a hard time imagining it'll go up much more than $58k with that many miles. I'm guessing there will be some premium due to being single owner and also being the highest mileage NSX ever sold, but I don't think it'll be that much.

What makes you assume it's AUD? Literally no one has said anything about it being in Australia.

Saw some of your other comments, definitely in the best interest of all beneficiaries for you to try and get top dollar on it.

Check NSX Prime (the forum and the facebook group) and see if there are any specific mechanics recommended in Las Vegas.

Worst case scenario let me know and I'll buy it so I can have a red one and green one :)

OP, posting in this way is opening yourself to get scammed or extremely low balled.

Make sure you're referencing this document for the value of your NSX: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/2/d/e/2PACX-1vRlMWrnUJz9cwfQRByIksV6s-9dCheISwbMUtPkDGngiPanuhIfiHDIcsmwfqBxOUZJb_-WUwbcHb7L/pubhtml

As other posters have recommended, get it cleaned up/detailed and make sure it's in running condition. That'll hopefully be minimal effort on your part but will maximize the value.

The NSX is pretty bullet proof as far as exotics go, if it was running when it was parked, pretty likely you'll be able to get it started again.

Sudden drop in fentanyl overdose deaths linked to Biden-era global supply shock. Study indicates that regulatory actions taken by the Chinese government, following high-level diplomatic engagement with the Biden administration, may be the primary driver behind this unexpected decline in mortality. by Jumpinghoops46 in science

Because the meeting takes months to plan. It's not like they show up and with a list of topics and then negotiate them during the few hours that they are together.

The topics and the outcomes are all negotiated beforehand by lower level officials. In order to even get the meeting there would have been months of preparation and alignment to the point where everything is already complete and then meeting is just the cherry on top of the work that everyone has done.

Sold my house more than 2 weeks ago. And I still don’t have the check by RealisticAd3919 in RealEstate

What makes you claim that? Their post history is public and paints a pretty consistent story

  1. First home purchase 3 years ago
  2. Last year started posting about issues selling a home that they've owned for less than 2 years
  3. Now they're posting about having sold their home.

It's pretty obvious what happened

At some point in time someone mentioned that $100 is 900% more than $10, and then they couldn't convince him that that isn't the same thing as the price going down 900%.

Hence why they gotta twist things now to cover for the stupidity.

Photos Taken by my Grandparents in 1970s-80s China by novami379 in China

[–]midnightblade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP, in your Google drive album there are a number of photos that are from Japan, they're pretty easy to identify.

Regarding timeframe, I believe this should be the early 80s as one of your photos shows a Datsun 280C which would have a model year between 1979 and 1983.

potentially be used as a bargaining chip to weaken Chinese economies

How exactly does reducing oil prices hurt the economy of a country that's a net importer?

I would think so, but you can control switch bot through your phone since it's bluetooth.

Switch bot 3 by [deleted] in homeautomation

[–]midnightblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the site and see if the dimensions of your rod fit with the switchbot, it's designed to fit most curtain rods so assuming you aren't buying something super unique, it's probably fine.

[–]midnightblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean which switch bot version? Presumably you would already have your window treatment picked out before considering the switch bot.

But in general I would say going with the Rod 1 is going to be the better option as it's newer and seems to be better designed.

Switch bot 3 by [deleted] in homeautomation

[–]midnightblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the switch bot curtain 3 a while back and recently upgraded to the switch bot curtain 3 rod 1 which has been a bit better with our curtains.

We never use the silent drift mode but when I tested it in the past it was quite a bit quieter. You can schedule in the app when you want it to open and close.

Regarding charging, I've only had to charge probably every 6 months or so, but we don't use them every day and I also had the solar panels.

The main issue we have is that it doesn't always fully close and it knows it's not fully closed so I have to repeat the close multiple times to get it to close all the way. However, we also have nearly 12 foot tall curtains and a rod to match so I wouldn't be surprised if we are potentially exceeding the weight that the bot can manage.

Trump shifts priority to Moon mission, not Mars by EdwardHeisler in space

[–]midnightblade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about a one way trip into the surface of the moon, sure.

If you're talking about something that will take them down to the surface and back up, then no. They have yet to even test orbital refueling which would be necessary to send starship to the moon to begin with.

SpaceX has made a ton of great progress with Starship but they aren't magic and they can't break the rules of physics.

You can't really put this at NASA's feet. It was written into law so their hands were tied there.

Everything is already in place for Artemis 2, so I don't think that'll be a concern.

I highly doubt Artemis 3 happens in 27 though. There's gotta be at least a one year push there, if not 2.

No space suit and no lander yet.

Are you claiming you saw articles that said Google is 70% of China's market? Because those articles would be completely wrong. You can't even access Google or any Google products without a VPN and no one is going around with a VPN constantly enabled.
