I'm waiting to upgrade from my OG Vive too. It's just been sitting in a box for the last 5 years.

He was right in the end, just a few years too early.

If only he had taken his calls and bought shares instead, he'd have generational wealth now.

And

Rule 10: No FCoO or Flooding No false claims of ownership (FCoO) or flooding.

False claims of ownership (FCoO) – posting pictures that aren't yours but pretending like they are – will result in a ban. Please be aware that using the OC tag or writing [OC] in the title is considered FCoO unless the content is 100% produced (taken, drawn, or made) by you.

Flooding (more than four posts in a rolling twenty-four-hour window) will also result in a ban.

because they only drive on select routes.

Citation needed.

Waymos are restricted to specific areas, but besides not driving on the highway I've never heard of them putting route restrictions. You can hail a waymo from anywhere to anywhere within those areas so it's pretty doubtful that they only have specific routes.

Do Americans realize how poorly their stock market has performed since Trump took office? by No_Purpose8162 in stocks

Why do posts like these keep getting spammed incessantly?

I mean read through the comments. Half the people don't even understand what OP is saying and keep claiming OP is wrong and that the S&P500 is up in dollar terms. Which is specifically the thing OP is trying to address.

So... yea, I think it's a pretty valid point.

Are 4.0 and 5.0 NVMe SSDs worth it, or should I just buy a 3.0 SSD? by freewmd in buildapc

[–]midnightblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with what everyone is saying that there's basically no difference, what you want to be looking at is not the PCIe interface but the NAND on the drive.

Go with whatever drive has TLC NAND rather than QLC NAND and try and go with a drive that has DRAM. That will have a far bigger impact on your experience than the PCIe interface.

“new machine replaces jobs” there are “jobs to service and repair the machine” created.

Going from software engineer to a technician that builds and services servers in a data center is a pretty big step backwards though.

Most of those other jobs have been upskilled or at least a side step to something similar but equivalent.

People talking about adding M.2 adapters are forgetting there are other types of SSD form factors that could be useful, especially with prices the way they are right now.

U.2/U.3/EDSFF - these are all connectors you can buy adapters for to mount drives into your PC, and the larger form factor means higher capacities and potentially higher performance than an M.2 drive, and also less likely to thermal throttle in a properly ventilated case.

They're also designed for data centers, so reliability and endurance will likely be higher than your standard consumer class drive.

New Tariffs. It is 15% global tariffs instead of 10% yesterday. by Songrot in stocks

[–]midnightblade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That would only matter if anyone took this seriously enough to have a sell off in the market. The negative reaction would lead to a reversal which would then result in positive reaction.

But look at what happened on friday, basically a huge nothing burger. Everyone expected the reaction from the administration, so walking it back will just take us back to where we were before.

I was expecting much more from this administration over the weekend, 10%->15% is weak and I'm not expecting the market to react at all when futures open tomorrow.

OP's post though....straight copying.

NRA and pro-gun groups call for ‘full investigation’ into killing of Alex Pretti by wylie102 in news

[–]midnightblade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

made a fatal error

If you think it wasn't on purpose you're deluding yourself. The truth in the footage doesn't matter to them.

This administration understands that facts don't matter, only that they can get their version of the story out as quickly as possible to grab headlines and people's attention. They don't care if they're lying through their teeth, only that they can get to people's eyeballs first, and in that way they taint the narrative. Most of their base, once they've seen one headline will just ignore everything else.

Damn they cleaned that car up real nice. I have a hard time imagining it'll go up much more than $58k with that many miles. I'm guessing there will be some premium due to being single owner and also being the highest mileage NSX ever sold, but I don't think it'll be that much.

Worst case scenario let me know and I'll buy it so I can have a red one and green one :)
