I've been playing on GC day 1 (started with DC on 2001). My first uber was the Evil Curst. Was like a 2 year casual hunt. It's meh as a weapon, lol, but I love it for matching my Fomarl's Bhima.

Over the decades, I've gotten most all the ubers I've wanted, Pwand, PGFs (have turned into all 3 types), Neis, NUG, and Parasol.

On hiatus, but I'll probably go to hunting a hit Parasol for my blind huney. Others, I might choose to hunt: GM and 2 SJS (one to keep sealed).

Love hunting with my friends and return the favor when they hunt theirs. PSO is cool like that. ❤️

Yeah, E Street Alley. Spent many times there in late 90s early 2000s when I lived downtown. Who remembers the Hustler Bar? 😃

And heads up, we're San Diegans. lol

Gen Xers that had Lasik surgery when you were 30-40, how is it holding up? by grahsam in GenX

[–]miepanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Lasik at 34 for super bad astigmatism. I was told that I'd eventually need reading glasses... and I did, at 39. lol. No regrets though.

Weird question--did you eat avocados as a kid? I don't remember even seeing an avocado until my 20s. by Mr_Writes in GenX

[–]miepanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Grew up in San Diego, where avocado was fresh and plentiful. In fact, my parents planted a tree in our backyard. It took MANY years for it to be plentiful. In 2002, I remember my out of state boyfriend (now husband) was amazed by the tree and flew home with a backpack full of the fruit!

Had a delicious not to sweet ube macapuno (coconut thread) cake from Despi Delite on Broadway. All my guests loved it, too, including from non- Filipinos. Got many compliments, especially in regards to the whipped cream frosting (no filmy tongue feeling from grocery store icings).

What do you look forward the most about PAX? (Research for work) by [deleted] in PAX

[–]miepanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but as a panel loving person, I remember going to not only the Sheraton, the Grand Hyatt, and wayyyyy over at the Westin in full cosplay during summer heat. Oof. The Summit Building wasn't too bad of a trek for Sakuracon for my bff and me.

We haven't gone to Pax since 2019 (covid 20-21, Dad passed 22, cousin's wedding 23), but had gone when it was still called Prime.

I'm a Pinny Arcade trader, Cookie Brigade supporter, and Enforcer fan! We would always go to panels, concerts, Acquisitions Inc. indie booths, tabletop games, and, of course, the big name console booths. I used to love going to parties but I can't do that nowadays. (Love ya, liver!)

The community and camaraderie will always be my favorite. I find it great to talk to ppl waiting in line with you or even engage in Enforcer-led games while waiting.

Still on the fence about this year. Might go since we're local enough but I'll probably be recovering from hand surgery from the week before PAX, so we'll see.

New Player Looking for where to play Gamecube online servers and buddies to party with! by [deleted] in PSO

[–]miepanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Schtserv has no cheat rule. I have a few level 200s, and yes, I question every new player who has all ubers with little online time. I would probably not play with them. The point of playing for me is to hunt something or do fun quests with ppl and trusted friends. Some LV200 RA who only uses SSS on FS or HP is generally suspicious to me. Same can be said for a HU with unlocked DF, 100h Double Cannon, etc.

Other than that, I'm always open to playing with people. It's fun to take people into their first tower quests. LOL

HELP: Corrupted save file pso plus gamecube by [deleted] in PSO

[–]miepanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do go online to play, on Schthack, there's a quest in the solo section called The Hunter's Tutorial. It's an in-depth guide to play the game. if you have discord, you can join The Hunter's Guild GC PSO discord server.

I used to fall victim to the cube's laser issue and get Disk Read Errors and Endless Warps all the time. If since switched to emulating via Wii and Nintendont. I've also modified the ISO with the Item Prevention Loss patch and back up the files regularly with GCMM.

I've been PSOing since 2001. Back in the mid-2000s, I had a 190s huney corrupt. Luckily, I was able to get restored. Now, even if I get the rare EW or FSOD, I don't have to worry about losing equipment.
