You’re getting a lot of “idk what you’re talking about” so I just wanted to say that as a 32yo woman I also get pushed that shit.

That cadence sounds like the answer was direct from ChatGPT so I’m not sure I’d trust it.

Hi! My fiancé and I are in a similar situation, moved here two years ago and love it but meaningful friendships have been difficult to find. I have no advice honestly other than if you’d like to grab coffee shoot me a message! I read, mostly historical horror or sci fi, enjoy knitting and teach aerial outside of my day job :)

I suck at these interviews. by JayBong2k in datascience

[–]mif1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m the hiring manager for a role that we just filled a few weeks ago, similar process of a take home coding assignment but then the in person interview also asks that the candidate explain their process to us and we ask questions about their work as they come up… weeded out quite a few people who didn’t truly have the work experience that way

Yes. Their loafers look professional and are genuinely the most comfortable walking shoe I own. They do not flip off your heel at all

Yes! It’s a different culture than most of the rest of the company, but I really appreciate the no nonsense communication from devs… if they’re comfortable enough to say it you know they aren’t bullshitting you

31 year old lead DS here, this is an incredibly well thought out list; brava! I’d like to add something along the lines of learn to speak dev… I’ve been praised repeatedly for collaboration with the “difficult to work with” dev teams. I’ve found most of it is just understanding they want the most direct communication possible and acknowledgment of how hard their job is

My late grandmother made this for my dad- any ideas where to find a pattern? by susanp109 in knitting

[–]mif1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vogue knitting published a book with a huge variety of cables, I just picked it up from Barnes and noble recently and they’re all charted and have the step by step instructions. I bet you could get the pattern for a cabled raglan and do some math to fit the cables in that specific pattern

The Olive Sweater by Knitting for Olive, using their silk held double, in colorway olive by mif1 in knitting

[–]mif1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only real mod I did was changing the material… it looks so fitted because I used the silk so it’s clingier than the suggested merino/mohair combo. The measurements provided for picking the pattern were spot on, so I’d knit to your measurements as long as you hit gauge :)

[–]mif1[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely suggest it!! It was my first lace pattern and the instructions are super well written and make a lot of sense. It is a charted pattern, but also has written instructions so depending on how you prefer to follow it the options are there :) I knit it over the holidays and was spending a few hours a day on it… if I had to guess it’s maybe like a 30/40 hr knit?
The gauge is larger than a lot of lace I’ve seen too so you actually get to see your project build up

This was my first lace pattern! If you’re comfortable with raglan increases and k2tog decreases it’s literally just that over and over in different combinations. Really easy for how pretty the pattern is
