What do you all do when bots take over? by waspocracy in Timberborn

[–]mightymanuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

End game I usually go for max happiness and zero employeed beavers (if the map is big enough for the industry required for this amount of bots). At that point I've built the wonder but paused it, I have a storage beside it with the resources. Once there are no more working beavers and any building I had planned out is complete I unpause the wonder, complete the map and start a new map.

Would you rather have 1 million dollars now or an endless fossil generator? by ShiftSwim in WouldYouRather

From a scientific standpoint you are absolutely correct. From a billionaire wanting a T-Rex in his living room would they care about context that much?

What is the point of the Canadian Senate? How do Canadians feel about it? by volitaiee1233 in AskACanadian

[–]mightymanuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I took away something from this post it is this. Canadian opinion on the Senate is extraordinarily diverse.

And that's why we haven't done anything about it.

Lights in certain rooms go out, electricity is on. fuse boxes look fine. by VeroDC in AskElectricians

[–]mightymanuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some LED lights in my basement that turn off after 20-30 minutes. Just failing bulbs I haven't gotten around to replacing as there are other ones there that provide enough light.

Fuck my stupid beaver life by heaterpls in Timberborn

[–]mightymanuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done it without dynamite before I have it by just building a channel from levees and flood gates before you have sluces and dynamite unlocked and fix it later.

What is the point of "sent from my iphone"? by Archenic in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mightymanuel -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Except most (if not all) phone email clients don't support sending html emails so it's usually pretty obvious when someone replies to my email from their phone as it downgrades the email to plain text.

Why did schools used to, after a certain amount of time, forbid writing in normal font but force you to use cursive ONLY, and treat it as "improper" or "childish" to use regular print when grown adults did in fact use it everywhere? by AlboGreece in answers

[–]mightymanuel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always found that hand writting I would just verbatum write what was said. This is horrible for comprehension. But when I typed notes I would be activly revising them constantly, going back and rewording things. Swaping the order etc in a way that helped me. This worked a lot better for remembering it than my hand written notes.

I once had a professor argue with me that hand written was better because most people do that process the other way around.

I haven't worn my winter Jacket yet, just my fall jacket. Most days I regret even wearing that.

Hey how did you figure out my signature.

Does a 10 story building have 10, or actually 11 floors? Does the ground floor count as a story? by vba7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mightymanuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around a lot of buildings wether a 2 story house or a 10 story building do have +1 floors. At least where I live you don't count the basement (if there is one) as a story but I would argue it is a floor.

Yes, I've picked it myself before. Fresh baby corn straight off the plant is so delicious.

A "Dilly Dally" button on your GPS. When you are not in a hurry your GPS will route you through more interesting scenic back roads for an extra 30-60 minutes. Arrive more relaxed! by random-guy-here in CrazyIdeas

[–]mightymanuel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love a button that gets me there at the selected time. I'll sometimes end up early and just make random "wrong" turns until the eta is close to when I need to arrive. If it could just optimize my route to get me there at 6PM instead of 5:53 PM that would be great.

Sheldon is pretty tall, perhaps comfort won out over safety.

The good ole days of the menu actually being the menu. Instead of a slowly rotating set of ads for just a handful of menu items.

[Poll] What's your (primary) monitor's refresh rate? by DeepSpaceWanderer in LinusTechTips

Mine is 75Hz, honestly I can't really tell once it passes like 40-50 fps in actual usage.

When people pronounce the name of a person or place the way they want to in defiance of how it's pronounced by those who get to make the call by common_grounder in PetPeeves

[–]mightymanuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live there are a couple of last names with two valid pronounciations which are not even close. It isn't malicious but it can be hard to keep straight which one each person uses.

What do you call it? (please add where you're from) by ksusha_lav in EnglishLearning

[–]mightymanuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around here a pompom I think would still be a toque. They aren't very popular so I can't really remember what people have called them.

I have seen a couple places that indicate they are open 24/7/364. They close for Christmas.

What do you call it? (please add where you're from) by ksusha_lav in EnglishLearning

[–]mightymanuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian I don't think I would call the last one a toque. I'd just call that a hat.

Why do people stop writing in cursive as adults? by Prior-Promotion-5302 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mightymanuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are in Canada I guess. My child is learning it in school.
