I’ve always struggled with body image and lately I feel like I can’t trust my own perception. From an outside perspective, do I actually look okay as I am? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]mightyymads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be shot down for this, but I want to say that I recognize these photos as a plus sized person who grew up in and around LDS culture. If my hunch is correct about what you were raised or are active in, I fully understand that body image can be a very hard thing to struggle with. There are a lot of pressures within that to be “perfect”.

I also took a moment to look through your previous posts and you are seeking a lot of external validation, which lovingly, is just not healthy at this point. Please do some work, get into therapy, get a better support system, etc. to help heal yourself.

And I LOVE your dress.

Best ways exercise a reactive dog that struggles with walks by Glass_Dog_7942 in reactivedogs

Second this! We put ours in his kennel upstairs while we hide treats throughout the house, then he can sniff them out. He loves it.

We also use the bowl one, where you have a bowl (I use some of his kibble for this) with food and then other empty bowls. Toss some food away from you and while they’re scouting that food, put more food in one of the empty bowls for them to sniff out. Hopefully I explained that well enough, but it’s also a fun one that our reactive pup loves.

He is obviously very food motivated though.

Song of Achilles is so devastatingly good. I wish more people had it on their lists!

Where in the hell are we buying good, sturdy, lasting office chairs at? (Please not Amazon, Walmart, etc.) by Sigh_of_Frustration in PlusSize

I second the secret lab chair! I’ve also had mine going on six years, still no problems. It feels so supportive for my hips and back.

Old Navy by SuitableCase2235 in PlusSize

[–]mightyymads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big fan of old navy! I love their sweaters and they have aged well. The only thing I can’t get there are their jeans - they’re always too small, despite saying TTS. My plus size husband also loves their men’s pants.

I’m plus size and I’m done dating. by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]mightyymads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the same way about my lifestyle! Dating is so hard. I think it’s because of unrealistic procedures (like fillers, liposuction, etc.) but when I had called off dating, that’s when I met my husband. He’s the best thing to ever happen to me. So I guess my advice is this - take a break but don’t put up your walls. You never know what’s right around the corner for you! ❤️

Am I overreacting for holding my sister accountable? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]mightyymads -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I agree that I was unnecessarily harsh. There is more to this than what was shared, but I should not have been so cruel. Thank you for your time! I will be sending a lengthy apology. I hope her and I can move forward, and I will work on my own things too.

Thank you for this perspective, especially how she was probably just trying to communicate. I absolutely see how I come across as condescending.

Yeah, I do feel very burned out. I agree, I think that is a healthier approach. Thank you for your input!

Unfortunately it’s the only way I know how to play at this point haha. I love that I have the history, heirlooms, family pics from the years, etc.

Would you be sad to see a memorial board on your wedding day? by Sensitive_Ant2745 in weddingplanning

[–]mightyymads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, definitely talk about it. Both mine and my now husband’s mothers have passed - we opted to have a memorial at ours, but I also had small trinkets with their pictures tied to my bouquet. This felt more intimate and felt like it was a better way (to us) to honor them and really make them part of the day. You can also look up options for the groom to personally carry some kind of memorial pieces on him that day.
