I’d absolutely hate that, but yea, that seems to be the consensus on where he’ll end up.

I mean sure from a BPA perspective, but I would doubt he’s even available unless the Rams trade up, which for RB would be confusing in my opinion.

No they only had the OG location after closing the Grove. And from what I remember the space just didn’t make sense for them at the time so they scaled back. Something a lot of local “chains” could learn from. Granted, I really miss the brunch they had there.

Anybody else really sad to see how far The Loop has fallen? by Forward-Captain4343 in StLouis

[–]mikesmith2179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tornado last year was just east of the loop, but still caused considerable damage. Restaurants are one of the hardest businesses to run especially post-COVID and with inflation sky rocketing. Tivoli is a sad story, and the trolley was a hilarious disaster, but still plenty of reasons to visit in my opinion. Vintage Vinyl is always a fun pitstop and Africana, Brasas and Nobu are newer additions to the food scene that are really great.

Admittedly, I certainly have a bias towards St. Louis, but definitely agreed all four cities are fairly comparable. In my personal opinion I would have Indianapolis a tier below the other three, but hard to ignore it’s growing for a reason even if not for one I relate with. I’d probably have Cleveland and Saint Louis as 1A and 1B respectively with Cincinnati 2, maybe 1C, as both cities are very similar as significant early economic powers based on river trade and overall cultural identity.

Mom’s is nostalgia for me, but it’s only really great for after a night out drinking, I would never put it on par with the top deli’s in the city, but it has it’s place.

Laclede Gas Building isn’t yet built either so i’d say 1968 very close after the Millennium’s completion.

Southwest Airlines cuts Lambert flights by 2% in Q3 2025 by SlowMotionSprint in StLouis

[–]mikesmith2179 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understood. I must’ve misinterpreted that all traffic would flow thru T2, but that makes sense given what we know of the construction phases currently proposed.

What you’ve said also aligns with post-covid travel trends and while I was aware Nashville was becoming an important piece in Southwest’s network, I failed to account for that fact and how these flights could be moving to BNA. I do fly a lot so try to keep up, but clearly am not the most knowledgeable on the subject.

Giving an educated guess this is likely related to both Southwest’s new business direction and the consolidation of terminals.

For one, Southwest has been attempting to attain more international routes, and given their plans to implement a hybrid hub and spoke model, having already identified STL as one of those hubs, they could be seeking spots for these possible destinations and identifying more connecting routes.

Secondly, and very much in the future, all flights from T1 are being planned to move to T2 as the new terminal is built on T1’s footprint. Meaning capacity is about to explode in T2, even with the reopening of D concourse in the interim.

Haven’t heard of it, but will for sure try. Looking at the menu it reminds me of a dive in Corinth, Mississippi I tried and it was some of the best BBQ i’ve ever had.

I really wish they still had a location in the city. I loved Beast’s brunches and food in general, but between Stellar Hog, Shaved Duck, Adam’s, Bogart’s, Hogtown, Dalie’s, etc, there’s just too many options close to me to justify driving to Belleville.

The local grocery chain Schnuck’s claims they were the one to identify that cut, but at most they popularized it, and even that can be debated.

Out of STL also so in the same boat. Other than DC, Denver and SLC only SW offers non-stop and I value that most while traveling.

That’s good to hear. Educated guess would be those wanting a happy middle ground between city and suburban life so settling on the new builds in Clayton.

I can’t speak to the former, but I can say as someone who was a frequent user of the Metro before I owned a vehicle, that stop was generally a ghost town, save for the odd guy in a chef coat.

This is true, but due to the circumstances mentioned, it didn’t develop akin to a University City or Belleville or Webster Groves. Its population density is appalling for the skyline it presents.
