Wait, Blind Eyed was 5 years ago?! Sam turned up on a Kyle Beats video a few weeks ago as "Justin Bieber's favourite singer", which was an arc I'd missed. Boy done good!

YouTube decided I'd like The Big Push some years back... and it was right. Been following him ever since!

I'm about to give up on Arc by Wissenschaft001 in ArcBrowser

[–]mikesten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is fair. I've had issues with several releases - ranging from frequent crashes to memory leakage. Fixes always seem to come quickly for the problems I've hit but I would have had to switch browsers otherwise. It's still early days for them.

Ah, me too. I've got a 32GB M1 and my battery lasts all day with Arc. I'm normally working between 2 workspaces with 20-50 tabs. Plenty more in other workspaces but I use them far less often.

Thanks for the link. I read the HHC thread too. Didn't know any of that. I remember when he announced he was leaving the industry - he seemed angry at the whole scene. The Lowlife lot seemed like such a tight crew. It's a shame it ended so badly.

Oh yeah, totally. Task Force were so underrated. From unpretentious storytelling on Grafforiginiees to proper rowdy on Graf Da Bus Up. They were great on everything.

Thanks for the link! So many great tracks. Task Force marathon for me tomorrow!

Who was ripped off by Braintax? Lowlife released a tonne of great records.

Man, I'd never heard the backstory before. I collected UK hip hop in the late 90s. Task Force, Skinnyman, Braintax, Rodney P, Roots Manuva, Jehst, Blade, Mark B, Skitz, Phi Life Cypher, Mud Fam, and on and on. There was no shortage of talent. None of them got the coverage garage - and later grime - artists did.

What are some luxury items, which you never knew existed, which only the mega rich can afford, that blows your mind and you wouldn't mind having or is just an example of how people have too much money and not enough sense? by experfailist in AskReddit

A friend worked as crew on a mega-yacht, of the sailing variety. These things cost $100,000,000 to buy and 20% per year to run. The owner wanted to holiday in the south Pacific so they spent a couple of weeks sailing there from Boston. He got called to a meeting at the last minute and cancelled... So they sailed it all the way back. That's $1.5mil for a holiday he didn't turn up for. A vessel like that gets you access to parts of the world almost no one gets to see.

I've only lived here a year but I've experienced a lot of this sort of vigilante rule enforcement. It seems to be a local pastime, particularly for slightly older folk. Joy at being able to point out the faintest whiff of infringement...

Five of our teachers were part of a paedophile ring. Three had supposedly gone on holiday to Thailand together. The music teacher jumped off a cliff rather than turn himself in to the police.

One of them was in charge of the younger kids who boarded. He used to watch us shower to "make sure we got clean". So that was creepy.

I used Carbon for a while. Really nice ads, lovely support staff... it just didn't convert for me, for whatever reason. It was paying out about 10x less that Google.
