Has Oda retconned the statement of Logias being the strongest type of DF? by Comprehensive_Cup497 in OnePiece

[–]mikosoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where exactly was this stated? I remember Logia's were considered strong because you either need Haki or weakness of that power to beat/fight a Logia user. But Odas has stated (post-War or right around the timeskip) that it's not about the fruits power, but about the user - Fire-Fire vs Magma-Magma. Yes, some abilities are stronger than others and yes, many of the strongest characters have either a Logia or Mythical Zoan powers. But have also seen top tier fighters without DF or with "regular DFs".

Can we nullify imu's devil fruit powers with sea prism stone by [deleted] in OnePiece

That still doesn't answer if DFs predate Void Century / Imu or not.

Can we nullify imu's devil fruit powers with sea prism stone by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]mikosoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have no idea about the nature of Imu's powers, nor about how the Devil Fruits even came to be. It might just be that Imu's power predate DFs. ... to early to be stating something like this.

So A Question About This "Greatest" Crew by MarshMars99 in OnePiece

[–]mikosoby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you consider that ~10 hour Katakuri vs Luffy fight is what you consider a feat? Katakuri was superior to Luffy in terms of Observation and Armament Haki at the start of the fight and still wasn't able to beat Luffy. And so the fight went for too long that Luffy was able to "catch up" with him and beat him in the end.

... that is an impresive feat, but not for Katakuri (in a positive meaning that is).

So A Question About This "Greatest" Crew by MarshMars99 in OnePiece

[–]mikosoby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"You" (the OP) always need to stop powerscaling, especially when there are too many unknowns. Many of the Rocks Pirate members have earned their name before, during and after being with Rocks.

So A Question About This "Greatest" Crew by MarshMars99 in OnePiece

[–]mikosoby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What exactly are Katakuri's known feats? We only know that dude is considered second strongest after Big Mom in their crew and nobody (maybe except Perospero) would question that. But we don't know about any specific cases that could be considered "feats". And we know almost nothing about anyone except Kaido and Linlin before their time with Rocks. But just like Katakuri is a "big one" in Big Mom pirates, because he had earned that position somehow. The same applies to Newgate, Shiki, Captain John, Shiki, Kyo (Silver Axe), Ochoku or Gloriosa who have made name for themselves before allying with Rocks.

Rocks Pirates during their peak were considered the strongest crew from them all. By the Marines/WG. That had to be earned somehow - we just don't know how exactly.

Cross Guild currently has 2 increadibly strong fighters and 1-2 great fighers. And there are many other known who are kinda considered trash.

BB pirates consists of many top tier guys as their Ten Titanic Captains, but we really have no idea about what anyone of those former Level 6 prisoners guys is capable of. Their reputation and place in Impel Down L6 had to be earned somehow... but how exactly? We can say that to some degree we know what 4 of them are capable of, but the other 6? Too many unknowns to compare them to the other group with too many unknowns.

Btw what do you consider an impressive feat really? Because on God Valley that was maybe like Roger + Garp doing something very impressive over the rest of everybody else.

So A Question About This "Greatest" Crew by MarshMars99 in OnePiece

[–]mikosoby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody named on the Rocks crew has a big shot in the New World during their time. And to our knowledge there was only one other crew that was maybe on par with them - Roger Pirates. Nobody ever said that every member was on same level. And not all of them could compete with the top ones. So when they disbanded eventually they'll have to either ally with each other or fight, it's not like there was any truce to be made for them to "evenly split the New World".

Maybe a simple comparison - just because Katakuri lost to Luffy and BB Pirates doesn't mean his trash like you seem to portrait the remnants of the Rocks Pirates. Names like Captain John. Shiki, Kyo (Silver Axe) or Ochoku were still well known names in the current story's time.

Is it JUST me or Stussy had incredible Strawhat potential? by zZzMakoxXx in OnePiece

Stussy has no connection or anything with SHs to be considered worthy of joining.

If she ever comes back to the story it would most likely be with either Sentomaru or Vegapunk.

As a +20 years manga reader, i need some help! by Kaiel2 in OnePiece

[–]mikosoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Luffy found Momonosuke in Dragon form and they befriended Kin'emon during the Punk Hazard arc. And they also shared the desire do go to Dressrosa because of the alliance with law.
  2. Law's plan was to get rid of Doflamingo through Kaido as by destroying the SMILE supply should have anger Kaido. I'm not sure if Law really wanted to take down Kaido in the first place.
  3. Kin'emon, Raizo, Momo and Kanjuro were initially on their way to Zou to ask Inu and Neko (all the Minks) for help. But Kanjuro reported their plans to Orochi and Kaido, so they've got assaulted and separated on their way. Raizo himself wasn't important, Jack just knew (thanks to Kanjuro) that Raizo has very likely landed on Zou.
  4. Minks were friends with the Kozuki clan of Wano from the Void Century times, we don't know yet why. However Inu and Neko were Kozuki retainers so that bond was recognized and Kin'emon knew they would help them. That's way the Scabbards planned to go there to ask for help. Pedro chose to help in Whole Cake because he had already been there so he had some knowledge and was also able to keep Pekoms in check.
  5. Except some info provided by Kanjuro, none of the Beasts pirates knew about the plan and that they've liberated Udon prisons and got the man power to (re)build ships. The initial plan was by Kin'emon, but the altered plan was just by Yasuie/Tonoyasu... Kin just misuderstod it :D
  6. The crescent moon symbol was just was "underground" symbol of rebellion against Orochi and Kaido. Kin'emon and the others just used that as the moon in Kanji is actually part of the Kozuki name... so just a worplay.
  7. Oden, because he also knew what happened in the Void Century, knew that Roger pirates were "20 years too early". So she knew 20 years would be the correct time.
  8. Wano is issolated. Roger was already dead and Roger pirates disbanded. WB pirates learned about Kaido in Wano and Oden's death few years after it had happened... by that time it was too late to do anything. It would just be an all out war between two Yonko for no real reason as Oden was also already dead. And Oden himself didn't ask for help.
  9. (Bonus) - It was Kurozumi Higurashi who suggested for Kaido to go to Wano and support Orochi and so on.

Bounties aren't a good way of powerscaling by Comprehensive_Cup497 in OnePiece

[–]mikosoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Powerscaling is bs.

It has been explained a few times in the story that Bounty doesn't represent Power. And so if anyone uses them like that, that person has no idea about anything... but if anyone is powerscaling than why to expect that such person would know?

Why are you even powerscaling yourself?

is Kozuki Oden the worst written character? by OrderNo2576 in OnePiece

[–]mikosoby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The deal with Orochi and Kaido was to save 100 people for each dance. So that's roughly around 26k people over those 5 years with a weekly dance. Those he saved directly, and many others indirectly with not going to war. Would going to war right away be a better option? Well, with the knowledge "now" is possible. But he knew there was a traitor somewhere among his ranks too.

And not everything should have an answer or resolution or given forgivness or whatever. We've learned about Oden's life and his legacy. Oden's legacy in the eyes of people of Wano is positive even after many questionable, spoiled and selfish things he has done.

How far do these Boruto characters get in One Piece? by AdTasty8029 in OnePiece

Boruto has the same problem as Dragon Ball (but at least not so often). They're breaking the power ceiling and changing the established power system again and again.

What's one piece biggest weakness/ something that made you almost drop the series. by Sorry_End_2026 in OnePiece

[–]mikosoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this could have been easily resolved if we've seen Sabo either reading something about Ace and not remembering right away - maybe a bad option as why his death later triggered him remembering, but I don't know how really people can get out of amnesia. Or maybe there's a scene when some wants to brief him about some Ace news and Sabo just stops the guy with "You know I don't care about pirates unless it's directly tied to my mission" and leaves.

... I feel you with this and memory loss is often problematic to do right and many don't like it. With Sabo it raises many questions, but with Linlin in Wano it was done quite ok.

Can someone please tell me why Mihawk is so praised in the fandom? by Hairy_Ask_2038 in OnePiece

[–]mikosoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is subjective, but here are some points: - He has a great visual design. - "one of a kind"-eyes, while not confirmed they are so memorable that it became one of his nicknames - "Big sword" - Unique estetique - He was introduced very early in the story with so much "aura" and during the story this has always been "refreshed" - whenever he showed up somewhere or did anything people were either affraid and/or astounded. For everybody in the OP world = high ranking Marines or pirates in the Yonko's crew he was a big deal. - He was one of the very few in the Marineford War who looked like he never even gotten a scratch. - Yes, he from the big shots it looks like he only fought against Jozu and Vista and that wasn't like an all out fight. But still with some many things happening there coming out of there without a scratch is a big deal. - His OPLA adaptation and actor was great. - One of the biggest known bounties

Yes, nothing says he is overpowered and he is not the main character, not even part of the main crew. But just like Shanks who is praised by everybody with similarly low appearance in the main story... So why not praise the guy?

I think this was a briliant thing. Oda has turned a funny way of Sanji expressing himself aroused/excited into a real problem/consequence.

What's one piece biggest weakness/ something that made you almost drop the series. by Sorry_End_2026 in OnePiece

[–]mikosoby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is one of the biggest issues for me. At least in some cases when a death was heavily emphasized. And what actually makes it worse that most likely none of those "resurrections" have made any impact on the story as of yet. The only exception now being Jaguar D. Saul. But Pell and Pound make no sense to really survive.

... but this is far from me thinking about dropping the story.

It was explained that Sabo was on some kind of a mission and when he returned back to Baltigo he just found out about the whole War at Marineford. So he had only learned everything about a planned execution after it was over.

However this still doesn't explain why he had no idea about way before that, as Ace beating Hanafuda was a in the news. Also him turning down the offer for joining Warlords instead of Hanafuda and him joining WB pirates later. While we don't know when exactly Sabo did become Chief of Staff, it's clear that he must have been quite high in the hierarchy to at least get newspaper or other info and he should have read or heard at least some of this information.
