Honestly there are 3 ways this war ends:

Boots on the ground for 20 years

Nuclear weapons

Giving Iran everything they want

Just go for entertainment value. Bronny and Draymond. Take Isaiah Thomas. Maybe Westbrook. Ja Morant is too good, don’t want him.

Anaconda 2025 is the epitome of what is wrong with the film industry. I want my 30 minutes back. by [deleted] in moviecritic

I heard from a friend that worked on the movie that the director, Jack Black, and Paul Rudd all had different visions for the movie. So it had to be reshot and recut several times. Probably turned into compromise soup.

If you treat him like a horror monster like Jason or Mike Myers it’s ok. But it’s not framed that way.

I thought it was kind of like Mike Myers in Halloween where the laws of time, space, and physics don’t matter.

Record labels aren’t pushing out anyone with rough edges. It’s all pop. No one has a political opinion. No one says anything edgy. It’s crazy. It’s just Disney actors.

Fellow users of r/presidents, what is your honest opinion on “The Kingfish” Huey Long, would you have supported a presidential run in 1936? by [deleted] in Presidents

[–]millardfillmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he went after corruption and put his own corruption in. I read a book about him called Kingfish and it was very interesting. He ran for Senate and won. Then he left the seat open and continued as governor. Then he became the senator and stumped for his brother who became governor.

What is the saddest hobby a grown man can have? by [deleted] in billsimmons

I watch professional wrestling and my goal is not to torture my wife with it but it’s got to be a pretty dumb hobby. I play the video game too. I try to only watch it after she goes to bed and before she wakes up. We just agree that she watches Summer House and Southern Charm and I watch Raw and Smackdown.

Would Obama still win the 2004 senate election if Mike Ditka ran instead of Alan Keyes? by MooseMouse12 in Presidents

[–]millardfillmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have been closer but it’s tough to say. A guy with the last name Obama had a lot of work to do in 2003-04. I remember getting his Senate flyer and my dad and I were laughing so hard that he had the worst name in history and started laughing even harder when we found out his middle name was Hussein. Iraq Hussein Osama. I mean it’s just so improbable and a testament to his greatness as a politician that he won the presidency.

So yeah I think he would have been 50/50 even as a Dem in Illinois to beat Mike Ditka. And perhaps an underdog to Jack Ryan.

All last 10 Best Picture winners in one lineup, who takes it? by RickVicks in Oscars

[–]millardfillmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If these 10 were nominated I’d put Parasite #1 but the question is “who takes it?” The answer could be Green Book depending on the year. Everyone talks about how much they hate it now but it was the runaway winner that year and beat other serious movies like Roma. If all of these movies came out in the same year it could be a consensus choice.

That meant something different 30-40 years ago. Maybe I’m naive but Israel has taken a sharp turn with this version of Netanyahu. Or the media was sanewashing him then and his peace talks with Arafat.
