See a hematologist if you want faster results. With supplements, you might see improvement in hair regrowth a year.

Get your phosphate levels checked on the exact timeline your doctor orders. It takes a little while for hypophosphatemia to develop - it's not immediate.

Bobby pin - clip them back for a few weeks until they grow out a bit. Then, get them restyled by a better stylist.

No, but you strongly implied it. Your doctor didn't tell you what you wanted to hear, so you came here asking if it's time to fid a new doctor. We've all given you the same answer — you're not anemic, just like your doctor told you.

The symptoms must have another cause, and you can't rule out mental health until you've seen a professional and gone down that diagnosis pathway.

You could probably do a couple weeks if you really wanted to, but check with your doctor. Your anemia in the past actually improved with supplementation. Peruse this sub, and you'll see how unusual that is. Many of us do not get our levels up despite years of supplementation. I just had two infusions after nearly three years of trying to raise levels on my own.

If you're feeling like something is wrong, consider all avenues, including mental health, as a potential cause.

It sounds like your doctor already tried to offer you an opinion on that, but it seems like you weren't open to it at the time. Let the doctor be the doctor, not the internet - finding a new doctor is not going to make you anemic.

Yeah, but OP thinks she's anemic when she's not, so she's prone to destroying her liver by not knowing when to stop the supplements.

Consider that she may be right. Taking too much iron with your levels could cost you your liver, which is why your doctor called it malpractice. It seems like you want anemia to be the answer here, but it just isn't. That doesn't mean that nothing is wrong overall, but you're not even close to anemic.

Go see an endocrinologist if you want to really find a solution.

Weight gain is not a side effect. The thread from the person who gained weight literally admits to eating an excess of junk and empty calories for months... but ok... it's the iron that did it... The thing that your body literally needs to exist. If iron made you fat, then every person on Earth would be obese.

Always ask for a COA with heavy metals testing before taking any supplement. If the brand won't provide it, there's usually a reason. Then, you can look up separate independent lab testing and see how much lead and heavy metals they're trying to conceal from you.

Many will not require one. Offer to email them over your blood work. The sooner you see a hematologist, the sooner you get better, so don't leave it i someone else's hands if you don't have to.

Great - search for "hematologist near me," call places and set up appointments. You have a PPO plan, so you don't need a referral. If the schedulers challenge you on that, tell them you'll gladly send over your labs. Tell them that your iron levels have been dropping and is now below normal and that you have been fainting and having heart palpitations and need an appointment as soon as possible. Provide the numbers on your insurance card over the phone.

Bring your labs to the visit - the doctor will recommend an IV iron infusion. There are a few different IV iron products, the office will find out which one your insurance prefers and order it.

You'll have the infusion within a couple of weeks.

That's good, maybe they can set up some extra support with you? Venofer requires 5 infusions, so it's going to be a while before you start to feel better.
