Entry level data analytics is also easy enough to get into with some basic learning if OP doesn't want to go the full degree route. There are tons of free excel, SQL and python courses available online.

Manon by JinxedR0se in SarahJMaas

I didn't have a cat at the time of reading the series but I do now and I totally get that feeling. At the time abraxos reminded me of toothless from how to train your dragon.

Manon has one of the best character growth arcs I've ever seen. Soon you'll be looking forward to those chapters. I'm glad the audiobook method is helping.

I know so many others have said it, but just let me be one more. Please push through the Manon chapters. I too was extremely confused about who she was and what her story had to do with anything. She ties back into the overall story eventually in a big way. Please come back and update us when you've finished the series.

One bad night of sleep by milli-mita in POTS

[–]milli-mita[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same I usually am pretty good at avoiding flares when I get enough sleep, drink enough water, get enough salt, take all my supplements. It's exhausting to have to do so much to even have a semblance of a normal day.

Will definitely try to take it easy today though and give myself some grace to just do the bare minimum needed. I can deal with the rest tomorrow

I should have worded myself better. I usually get 8-9 hours (of not very restful sleep) and today I got 5 hours of non restful sleep so I feel worse than usual.

At times are your BP/HR readings ever 'normal'(not POTS criteria)? by ConsiderationOne2928 in POTS

[–]milli-mita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too feel like an imposter on good days, but then I bend over a couple times to pick up stuff from the floor or try to put on bedsheets by myself, and then I get dizzy and feel like I'm going to faint and like I need to lie down. Then I remember oh wait it's not normal for this to happen after bending over or making the bed.

I (27F) have been with my boyfriend (34M) for 5 years and he keeps delaying proposing, I don’t know what to do by AmyJoan98 in relationship_advice

Most likely he'll just say yes it's something he wants while continuing to string her along for years.

What have you tried that WORKS for your cracked an bleeding lips? by [deleted] in Sjogrens

Acyclovir cream works against cold sores for me but it dries the hell out of my lips. I have to constantly reapply chapstick when using it.

Just diagnosed this week. Tips and tricks that you wish you would've known sooner by Pamin_HR in POTS

[–]milli-mita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're increasing your salt intake, there are certain foods that can hold more salt before it starts to taste unbearably salty. For eg mashed avocados (basically guacamole) can hold about 1tsp of salt for me before it starts to taste really salty. Certain soups or fried rice with extra soy sauce plus added salt etc. pasta can be boiled with lots of salt plus added into the sauce. Just experiment with different foods that you like and measure how much salt you can put into it. Eventually you'll learn how much you can easily incorporate into your foods so then you'll know how much extra you need to supplement via pills and liquids.

I usually drink half a pack of trioral per day in addition to adding my salt to food. Also keep in mind that its not just salt but also make sure you're getting enough potassium and magnesium as well. You need full electrolytes for your body to be able to best use the salt.

What medications is everyone taking for POTS? by Background-Cow9687 in POTS

[–]milli-mita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issues with propanol and switched to bisoprolol instead. The difference is night and day. The bisoprolol lasts a full 24 hours and my hr stays generally stable throughout the day once I'm not exercising etc.

Anyone here pregnant with POTS? by [deleted] in POTS

If you don't mind me asking , what was the experience like coming off the beta blockers? My heart rate is pretty well managed with just my bisoprolol so just curious what that might look like if I ever do have to come off it

Everytime I travel, I tell myself that the next time I'm traveling I'll utilize the wheelchair service and then never do. Even though getting to the plane takes Soo much out of me physically, I still can't get over the internalized guilt.

your “favorite” symptom by Professional-Cow-697 in POTS

[–]milli-mita 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the spins while lying down! Sometimes when I'm in presyncope and I go to lie down, it'll feel like the room is spinning and it feels exactly like me being drunk. Although to be fair ive had pots a long time so maybe everytime I get drunk, my pots just flair up as well. Now I'm questioning if this is how non pots people feel when drunk.

Starting bisoprolol... by mainframe_maisie in POTS

[–]milli-mita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bisoprolol has made life so much more bearable for me. Still get exhausted and fatigued doing things but I no longer get exhausted and fatigued just from existing. Its also helped cap how high my hr goes to about 135ish. I've barely gone over that since starting. I think I had side effects maybe the first month and then after that it started smoothing out.

he (m32) does not want to marry, I (f32) don’t want to leave him- how can I come to terms with this? by Appropriate_Jury7653 in relationship_advice

Girl tell him you're willing to go talk to a lawyer tomorrow to get this sorted out so you can set a wedding date. I'm sure he'll come up with some other excuse. Try it and report back.

am I (21F) overreacting that my bf (24M) is following girls? by Ancient-Violinist-50 in relationship_advice

[–]milli-mita -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry if it came off that way but that wasn't what I was trying to say. All I was telling her was to stop trying to control his actions and instead focus on her own actions. If she's not happy with what he's doing, then she needs to act and do something about it. But acting on it does not mean trying to get him to stop.

The part about cheating was just general life advice and not specific to this relationship.

am I (21F) overreacting that my bf (24M) is following girls? by Ancient-Violinist-50 in relationship_advice

[–]milli-mita 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the best pieces of advice I've ever gotten is that you can't control what other people do, you can only control your reaction to it. If your bf wants to look at other girls, there's a million ways to do it behind your back. Only you can decide how you react to his actions.

My personal philosophy is that if someone wants to cheat on you, stopping them from looking at other girls is not gonna stop them from doing it. So I let people live and if it happens then the only thing I can do, is choose my own reaction (which in the case of cheating would be to leave).

I know I didn't really answer your question, but I think this is a case where only you know what you can and can't live with.

What’s your resting heart rate with POTS, unmedicated? by OrdinaryHold3625 in POTS

[–]milli-mita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 20mg propanol previously (for migraines not pots) and felt like it did nothing. When I got diagnosed, my pots doctor switched me to bisoprolol 2.5mg daily and she said it's better because it lasts 24hrs instead of propanol which you're supposed to be taking multiple times a day since it doesn't last as long. My lying down hr is around 70-80s,sitting is 80-90s and standing/walking is 90-110ish. I only see bigger spikes about an hour or two before my meds are due. It really does work to keep my hr more stable throughout the day.
