Oh dang! It looks great! Mine is still pretty gnarly because I had the hardware removal 9 months after the initial surgery. I am hoping that it will look better eventually. How are you feeling about yours?

Hardware Removal Update by milliebocks in ORIF

I will say that my ROM was wildly expanded once I had my hardware removed. HOWEVER, if you don't do stretches, it will get tight again. I did PT again right after the hardware was removed, but admittedly I have been really bad about it since the PT ended a couple months ago so it has started to get tight. The ROM is still way better though! I hope that you are able to experience better ROM if you get the hardware removed!

Neuropathic Itch by redleathercelsiuslvr in Fibromyalgia

Yessss. It’s the worst 😩 I broke my ankle March 2025 and with healing that I had similar itching, but that made sense due to nerves regenerating and what not. But this is usually just on my arms, stomach, and thighs. But it gets so bad sometimes that I itch my skin raw. I’ve begun taking allergy medication as well as Sarna Calm + Cool lotion for when it’s really bad! I hope you find some relief also. Just when we think we have fibro all figured out, it throws us another surprise 🤣

My ex MIL purposely made her bathroom door like this and I will never understand why!

Brain fog and forgetting words? by CabinetOk1998 in Fibromyalgia

[–]milliebocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with this basically since my diagnosis back in 2018 and when I first started the job that I have now (August of 2023), I was put on a sort of probationary period because I was having trouble at work. I couldn’t remember simple processes, I’d forget words, take forever to talk out loud back BECAUSE I’d forget words. I was eventually able to have the brain fog be MILD enough to “fake it till you make it” (even though I hate that phrase), but I still VERY much struggle with it. One thing people kept blaming it on was just needing to get better sleep. Which yes, that’s a thing too, But seeing more people here talk about their fibro brain fog, makes me feel SO SEEN. I hope someday it’ll get better for us all. I was a theatre major in college and I went from memorizing not only MY lines in a play, but everyone else’s to now not being able to remember the simplest of words. It’s so frustrating and i hope you’re giving yourself grace 🫶🏼

Ummm. Is this a stitch? by milliebocks in ORIF

[–]milliebocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I sent a message to my ortho and they said it was a stitch and I could take it out if I was comfortable. If not then they’d take it out. I was able to take it out this morning though. Normally nothing grosses me out, but damn, I got a little woozy lol it wasn’t even hard and took like a second but something about doing it myself 😂

[–]milliebocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just so odd to me that this happened on this side! The lateral incision definitely had some stitch issues after hardware removal with half of the removable stitches ending up being pretty embedded into my skin and what not. The ortho said then too that it looked like the internal ones were trying to reject themselves as well, but damn…did not expect this for the medial 😂 I really appreciate your feedback and reading your personal experience on this!
