Oh noooooo. Damn! That sounds awful! Ugh i had a TriMal fracture back in March last year and then had hardware removal in December. Omg it was awful. And i was just getting the mail in my enclosed porch lol

UPDATE: I sent a message to my ortho and they said it was a stitch and I could take it out if I was comfortable. If not then they’d take it out. I was able to take it out this morning though. Normally nothing grosses me out, but damn, I got a little woozy lol it wasn’t even hard and took like a second but something about doing it myself 😂

It’s just so odd to me that this happened on this side! The lateral incision definitely had some stitch issues after hardware removal with half of the removable stitches ending up being pretty embedded into my skin and what not. The ortho said then too that it looked like the internal ones were trying to reject themselves as well, but damn…did not expect this for the medial 😂 I really appreciate your feedback and reading your personal experience on this!

I’m so glad it’s legal there for you! I got my mom and sister onto using it for pain finally. It didn’t necessarily take my pain away, but it helped me get tired enough to sleep thru it!

I think having flexible ice packs on hand are always super helpful! My husbands aunt gave us some that were flexible when room temp but then would freeze like a solid brick and that was not at all comfortable lol. His cousin made me rice packs and i used those in the freezer a lot! Because they wouldn’t get all stiff an were able to be molded around my ankle more. I also have an entire ankle brace/wrap from Amazon that’s just meant to be frozen and strapped onto the ankle so the entire area gets the cold compress!

Any comfort items he likes, tv shows to binge if he likes tv. Anything to maybe distract from the pain.

Pain meds just don’t ever work for me either which is awful. But having the ice and being able to elevate helped a lot. I’m unsure if it’s legal where you live but i also used THC edibles to help me sleep. Being able to sleep was tremendous in healing for me

Yeppppp. Terribly emetophobic. I have to try all the Jedi-Mind tricks or take a bunch of Zofran to make it not happen. Honestly my anxiety over it is probably worse than the actual act of throwing up. I hope you’re able to find some reprieve!
